Tilleys Bar — Restaurant in Newcastle upon Tyne

This bar is a hidden gem. I've passed by many times and happenstance dictated that i went in. I can't judge too much as I only stopped in for a quick couple. I didn't have any food other than some warm pork scratchings. Which were delicious by the way! Atmosphere, was really calm and chilled for a busy central bar, which was refreshing for a busy Saturday afternoon. The beer selection is phenomenal, ales galore. A quick couple for me quickly became a conundrum but I managed to settle for a brown ale (can't quite remember the brewery as there was so many!) Tilleys bar is the best bar in Newcastle and is a must for anyone that likes real and craft beer. With well over 100 bottle and lot of draught that are changed regularly I'm sure even a seasoned beer taster will find something new and the staff have the knowledge to help you if that is your quest! Gets busy Friday/Saturday night when they have a DJ playing. being close to the stadium it does get a lot of football traffic. It has a lot of ale and beer, the cider section is lacking. The music wasn't to my taste not many places to sit way from the live d j , in fact not many places to sit. If you like playing darts the dart board is over a table reducing in theory the amount of places people can sit and is not at the right height. All if that aside, the staff are nice and knowlegable also it has a dart board.... and a huuuuuge...
