Amazing restaurant and the staff are so friendly! Booked for 4:30pm, they allowed us to bring it forward to 4:00pm. Upon entering and leaving, the staff were nice and friendly and they did not rush us out when we were finished.
The venue itself is nice and clean. There's lots of choice and the food is cooked right in front of you. Attended as a party of 4, and we were sat at the cooking workstation. I highly recommend sitting in these seats if you're lucky enough to, just don't wear too much hair gel 🤣
The cuts of meat looked really nice and they tasted even better. Whilst the dishes are reasonably priced, the soft drinks can be on the pricey side (pesky dry-January!) We ordered three main dishes and a kids meal, with a side order of scallops, which were so soft and tender as well as really nice.
The bill overall was quite expensive, however the food was of very good quality and we did order quite a bit. The price of the soft drinks pushed the overall price of the meal up, methinks. Overall, I feel I paid for a meal and a show; the chef was so entertaining and engaging with the customers. And as a bonus, the food is cooked right in front of you too.
Will be attending again in the near future. Thank you to all the staff working on the day my family...
Read moreWe have been going to Fuji’s for over 12 years now, and tonight was terrible.
Starter. Chicken was dry and tough, spare rib was tough as well, over cooked.
Then we get into the main course, a bit weird but they did the steak first, which was the only nice part of the meal, then inexplicably dished out the veg and then the rice. Prawn fried rice is advertised, plain fried rice is served. Usually the chicken is served with the rice otherwise it’s a bit dry. Not tonight. So most of my rice was left.
We then had the salmon lobster and chicken so fast it was piling up in the plate. Not the experience we are used to.
The lobster which is usually the thing you look forward to was quite bland and not delicious as it usually is. I actually left half. And the chicken was also dry, it would probably have been fine if served with the rice but it had been stewing for the whole length of the meal in its sauce.
£88.50 wasted. Looked forward to this for 6 months during lockdown. Never again.
PS Fuji’s, if you read this, please note I am a taxi driver, I used to recommend you to my customers and only you as a great place to eat, I will now be telling everyone of the bad experience I had and...
Read moreUndeniably the finest Japanese cuisine you can enjoy in Newcastle-Upon Tyne with Hanahana coming in at a close second place. I wanted to eat here several times, trying different variations of their lunch and dinner sets, before offering a review as I was pleasantly surprised at how good both the food and the experience as a whole was after a single whimsical lunch there. I’m pleased to inform that Fujiyama simply does not miss. You’re going to see the freshest ingredients brought out in all their naked glory to be meticulously cooked by professional, trained chefs. You’re going to see eggs juggled, plumes of flames aloft and art made with rice whilst you eagerly await that sizzling cut of salmon to grace your plate. One might think that a buffet of delicious courses cooked by entertaining veteran chefs would be enough to take a hefty bite out of anyone’s wallet - but you would be wrong. I genuinely don’t know why they aren’t charging at least 1.5 times the price as the food and service is worth at least double in my humble opinion. Before I sign off, two last things to mention. This would be a fantastic place to take someone on a first date. Their salmon is...
