Awful visit, though I will say the gentleman who took our order was polite and friendly. Where do I start with the rest of the experience... after ordering the food started to arrive about 20 mins later. It would have been nice if it had arrived all together, particularly for my parents who received the fries, but waited for their meat dishes. I ordered a side dish as my main - yet received a main dish. I was told to just take it and they would only charge me for the side portion. I don't like waste, which is why I ordered the side dish in the first place, so defeated the object. One of the dishes was awful, either over cooked or left standing in heat. We tried to get the attention of a staff member to give them an opportunity to resolve it, none was interested, nor did anyone pop to ask how our meal was. The first opportunity we had to report this, was when someone finally came to clear the table. Having reported our disappointment with one of the meals, we were informed because what had been edible was eaten, and nothing had been said to staff there was nothing that could be done. After returning the dishes to the kitchen we were then informed that we wouldn't be charged for the meal. Then we asked for the bill, it hadn't been a great experience and to be honest I just wanted to leave. I checked the bill then waited to pay. And waited. And waited, until eventually I went up to the deal and waited until the staff had finished speaking to ask to pay.

So, how would I summarise this place? Atmosphere - noisy, and distracting with one table posing on the stairs to take photos. Food - disappointing. Service - disappointing, and I appreciate its late on a Saturday evening, but you've still a full restaurant to deal with.

Would I recommend it? Absolutely not.

Would I return - Absolutely not, and I don't think I've ever said...

Be wary if you are a big table. So firstly the restaurant is stunning. Came for my birthday. Food was delicious but found the portions were on the smaller side. Jacob our server was spot on. What an asset to your team. We got our starters an hour and 15 minutes into our visit. They stated we would only get table for 2 hours as per booking policy. But thought they would give us more time due to food not arriving till beyond half way through the time slot. However they didn't so this gave us less than an hour to eat starters have mains and dessert. Before some people even finished dessert our hour was up I was feeding our baby and we kept getting asked to move along. I don't blame the servers it's not their fault, they'll be getting told to move us along dead on the time. I was being as quick as I could. Some of my guests left drinks as they were getting hurried and felt awkward. I'm not sure how fair the 2 hours is for a table of 9? Or any large table Especially if you don't get your starters till over an hour into the time slot. Really doesn't leave time for anything else. The rest of the evening felt so rushed. spoilt it for me. Such a shame because it's a beautiful place. :( I think time should be longer for large tables due to the time it takes for food to come. You would then allow people to have time for dessert and drinks? Not feeling so rushed. I'm not one for spending long at...

A True Gem for Families—Delicious, Welcoming, and Wonderfully Accessible

We recently had the pleasure of dining at Babucho Gosforth, I can confidently say it’s one of the best family-friendly spots we’ve ever visited. From the moment we walked in, the staff greeted us with genuine warmth and made sure we felt completely at home, super similar to the quayside Babucho!

The food? Absolutely fantastic. Every dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented—clearly made with care. There’s a wide variety of options on the menu to satisfy both adventurous eaters and picky kids, and they’re happy to accommodate dietary needs or preferences.

What truly sets this restaurant apart, though, is how thoughtfully it’s designed for families with young children and those with special needs. The space is open and easy to navigate with pushchairs and wheelchairs, and the noise level is comfortable, not chaotic. The staff were incredibly patient and attentive, checking in often and going out of their way to make sure our kids were happy and comfortable.

Babucho is more than just a great place to ea on Gosforth high street - it’s a place where families can truly relax and enjoy themselves. We are so lucky to have this on our doorstep and I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a meal that’s as welcoming as it...

We visited Babucho Gosforth yesterday and had a really enjoyable time. We ordered from the Rapido menu, with pizzas and starters, and the children loved the pizza making experience where they got to make their own pizzas and even meet the chef – such a nice touch for families. The venue itself is absolutely gorgeous, with a lovely atmosphere, and the staff were friendly and attentive throughout our meal. The food was good quality and tasty – I wouldn’t say it completely blew me away, but it was still enjoyable and well presented. The waiting time was fine and everything came out at a good pace. The only downside was when it came to paying – it was a quiet time and a few staff were standing chatting, which made it a bit tricky to get someone’s attention. It took longer than it should have, which was a little frustrating, but overall it didn’t take away too much from the experience. Overall, Babucho Gosforth is a beautiful venue with good food and lovely staff, and it’s definitely worth visiting, especially if you’ve got kids who would enjoy the pizza making.

A revelation of rejuvenation! The old church building on Gosforth High Street has been transformed into a beautiful Babucho Brasserie with a fabulous vibe and even better food. We opted for a few classic Mediterranean classics, croquettes and calamari. The honey and soy sauce is to be relished. The hand made croquettes transported me to a much sunnier place. For main we indulged in a King prawn linguine with the perfect amount of chilli and the King prawn skewers that are a taste sensation out of the clay oven. With a huge drinks range featuring the infamous ÂŁ5 cocktail range, there is absolutely no reason to venture into the centre of town for a delicious dining experience. The team are brilliant and they tell me the booking system is now live, get booked and become part of the Gosforth Babucho congregation. #faithful.

Belated Mother’s Day treat from my daughter Paige. The moment we entered this absolutely amazing venue we were blown away by the sheer elegance of the decor inside. Warmly greeted by the owner/manageress Lydia who gave us a fab table up the beautifully lit staircase. We had cocktails & gin & tonic for drinks & ordered our meals. The starters came out swiftly & were delicious followed by mains which were outstanding then my daughter had room for dessert while I opted for a cappuccino. Whole visit from start to finish was amazing. Massive compliments to Lydia, Josh our server & the whole Babucho team. We will 100% be booking again. Can’t wait!
