Hi Coffee — Restaurant in Newport

Usually come here and it’s great but today was a totally different story with one member of staff being so incredibly rude. Asked for a coffee and a shortbread, the guy behind the counter gave me the wrong one and I went back and asked if he could swap it. No problem right? Apparently not. He proceeded to shout at me (he was so aggressive it actually took me back), snatched the cake back, and said that he’d have to refund me and charge me again, telling me it’s a millionaires shortbread not just ‘shortbread’. He said the refund had gone through, threw the cake on the table and walked off. The refund hadn’t gone through, he didn’t even try. I used to work in a coffee shop and am well aware how refunds work and never even asked to retap my card. He was so rude and aggressive I really just thought it wasn’t worth it to be shouted at by a stranger. I think it was the best coffee in my life. I ordered a decaffeinated coconut milk cappuccino and honestly didn't expect anything. But he was simply divine! Had a fantastic experience here and would wholeheartedly recommend the place to everyone that is looking for an authentic coffee-house quality coffee for a very reasonable price. I was passing through on my way back home and even though I am only in Newport on business now and again, I will definitely be back. The nibbles aren't too bad...
