Pizza La Rosa — Restaurant in Newport

Ordered a pizza with delivery, over a week ago. What can I say? Pizza (ham, pepperoni, 2x cheese) is one of the best I have tasted and tested in UK in the last 5 years. Bit of italian herbs and it would be the best. Food 4.9/5 Customer service - It was quite late on Sunday evening, around 22.30 or so when the order was placed, with delivery circa 23.30. Problem was, it was raining, it was windy as hell, typical Welsh weather ;). I have asked the driver to give me a missed call 3 mins prior to the delivery, as I live in a shared house and I wanted to meet him at the door.. Got that call, went down and I have waited for 10 mins in this bloody rain. Never showed up. Call after 5 mins, I came down again. As it happens, he was sitting all the time in his car, couple houses down the street. He saw me. Never moved his bottom. So between him getting close to the address and handing me the pizza, it was 15 mins or a bit more. I refused to accept a cold pizza (if you order food it is supposed to be hot, this one was barerly warm in the middle, edges were cold). 15 mins (midnight was upon us) chat over the phone with restaurant manager or owner or shift manager, but we negotiated delivery of a fresh one. To sum it up, poor communication with the driver, a bit of misunderstanding with the owner/manager, my dinner was delayed by half an hour or so, but consensus was achieved. Customer service 4/5, delivery itself 1/5. I would like to belive that was a single episode and the lightning won't strike again. Pizza was definetly good. Just...

My usual is a large cheese and tomato pizza with large chips.

Pizza has been amazing. The best I've had from most of the places I've tried. Chips aren't bad, too.

Also, they tend to cook things perfectly (well, exactly how I like it anyway).

However, recently, there's been a number of issues...mainly with the pizza sauce. It's like they've forgotten the recipe and have been trying to recreate it, but just not hitting the right mark. Hopefully, they get this sorted soon as their sauce was what got me hooked.

A few things I would advise when ordering (and definitely give them a go) ask for a little extra sauce (which they should really be doing), ask for it to be cooked a little extra (trust me on that one) and no bubbles (I think they've started doing that now for all, but ask anyway (this is when the dough starts to bubble up and forces everything off that part of the pizza)).

I have tried other things, but they've named their shop with their main product...pizza, so get...

EDIT . This place was called Foodies. Unfortunately they closed their business. Havent yet been to Pizza la rosa but will defo try one day. Foodies review - Great food! They make Chinese food and middle Eastern food. Its halal which is great as its the only Chinese place I have found that is halal in newport. Haven't had Chinese food for a while and this place did not disappoint! I absolutely loved the chicken balls, calamari rings and noodles. My mother loved the sweet and sour chicken. Friendly staff and will be coming back!...
