Synge & Byrne newry was great before the flood for food but service and staff were sometimes a wee bit up and down then after the flood and a very long wait to reopen it took a little time to get every thing up to standard this was to be expected.. But wow wow wow wow we have checked you out several times recently and today we could not stay silent any longer so we informed the staff just what we thought... Food brilliant as always.. New staff so polite so professional so helpful not occasionally but everytime.. Great customer services. Young manager very professional great team leader.. Coffee great.. Cleanliness super. Clearance of tables fast, I find it disgusting when one enters a restaurant and find un cleared tables not here any longer.. Last year I forgot my phone one call and my phone was there to call for today I forgot my coat and Bernie the super waitress came out to my car with it. Wow some service. Oh I almost forgot one of the best ways to judge a place is check out the toilets Wow again they are spotless on every visit. We applaud you all it was a hard battle, you came out fighting and you won... Well done.. Now I am afraid you will have to put up with regular visits from us.. Great...

There is even a walk-up coffee window on the side of the building if you need to get your java to go. Love the chalkboards with their witty (and sometimes wise!) sayings at the front entry. Favorite things on the menu include the vegan āsausageā rolls, the baked potatoes and the sweet potato fries with harissa dipping sauce. Some little ways that this location could improve: Iād really appreciate seeing prices up on all the menus. The other little improvement would be putting all the cakes, tray bakes, etc that are out on display under cake domes/lids. Other than this, Synge & Byrne at Sugar Quay are doing a brilliant job and I am so pleased to see them back and better than ever after the flooding last year. Lastly, but certainly not least, I am so pleased that there are not one but two disability accessible toilets available for customers now. A huge upgrade from the old, single customer toilet that was not disability accessible. Keep up the great...
Read moreVery disappointing lunch here on Tues with my mum & daughter my mum who's 75 wanted a simple ham and cheese sandwich which took ages to explain as I was told that the only sandwiches on offer were the ones in the cabinet, so the menu is misleading as it says sandwiches and wraps anyway the chef said he could do this so I ordered a quiche with garlic potatoes and mum had them also, we were asked if we wanted them heated we said yes my daughter ordered a ciabatta with sweet potato fries... When the food came out my mum was given a toasted sandwich not what we ordered the potatoes were cold so asked the server could they be heated as we'd asked she took them away they came back 5 mins later cold again plus cutlery was dirty got clean cutlery but by the time it came my food was cold as was the sweet potato fries at this stage we just ate a little bit and left mum didn't eat hers but took it home.. Was not impressed with cold food very very disappointed as I paid over £37.. Used to eat here before the flood and never had an issue so was looking forward...
