Quite disappointed.
We arrived on our way to the giants causeway and we were quite dissapointed, first impressions the cafe is cute and quirky and the menu although limited due to covid I suspect sounded lovely.
We were greeted by a pleasant man that got us sat down pretty quickly it was all downhill from here, the staff seemed to walk around like headless chickens aimlessly walking around creating a busy atmosphere when in fact it should have been quite manageable especially with 4 members of front of house staff, it took about 15 mins to have our order taken.
The girl that took our order didn't really have much customer service experience and was quite bland (just like the food).
I ordered the katsu chicken burger with no bun and my partner had the jackfruit tacos (the only reason for the second star) we waited approx. 40 mins for food. I would understand if the place was rammed however it wasn't, so no excuses.
Let's start with the katsu burger, extremely overcooked chicken obviously forgotten and left in the fryer too long - tasteless, the katsu sauce was pretty much just coleslaw with a bit of curry powder again very tasteless. It's always a bit worrying when the chips are the best part of your meal.
The jackfruit tacos were full of flavour and delicious, brilliant recipe and kudos to the chef, the only critisim here is that there is no warning on the menu about the spice level, for my partners pallet this was way too much and she had no warning before ordering.
All in all Finegan & Son its a 2/5.
You really have something here but it needs a lot of work, front of house need a bit more training and the kitchen shouldn't be sending out tasteless overcooked...

Read moreLipstick on glass and waiting 45 minutes for a breakfast on a Sunday afternoon that never came .. 🙃 When we sat down there was something mumbled about breakfast menu ? It was 1.45 asked for water and a coffee ! The coffee was so bitter I could not drink it ! Went to pour some water and there was lipstick on the glass ..OK so it happens! But to wait 45 minutes and 2 tables get served before us plus no staff even thought to question why we had no food? probably because they were to busy talking 🤔 First time here and I can say for sure that I will never be back . Hate to give a bad review in my home town but can't let it...
