Barnstaple Coffee Shop — Restaurant in North Devon

I’m honestly not sure what to make of it, i don’t normally make reviews but…..there where 4 orders in total, I ordered brown bread gammon and cheese sandwich i was sent white bread, the cheese was cut in slabs, with one speck of blue welded to it so i can only assume to be mould. There was a thick layer of butter on one side of bread which made it soggy. The best part was i ordered sweet potato fries and they packed them together! they put them in the same container! they lay the sandwich on top of the chips! the bread was sloshing and warm! the sweet potato fries smelt like fat and where really hard, honestly one of the worst foods i’ve had, i didn’t eat it. Who packs a sandwich like that! it was flopped on top a squeezed down. They also missed a drink. The other sandwich was prepared the same way. The other food wasn’t as bad not great cold and not very inviting. The order was expensive and terrible for the price we will not be ordering...

Absolutely disgusting treatment! Went In with my mother in law (83 years old) took 15 mins to receive drinks then at least another 20mins for our food!! Eventually when our food arrived (cold) I asked for a fresh coffee for my mother in law (£2) on the house after our wait!! The waitress came back with a piece of paper saying we had only been in 20mins!! Why they had to show us that I do not know🙄 obviously thought a £2 cup of coffee too much!! The waitress that served us actually took at least 10mins to put her wee bit of paper in for order🤣 absolute joke of a place!! Cut a long story short they just want your money(totally overpriced as well) and they don’t give a hoot about customer service!! So if you don’t want an overpriced under staffed impolite reception...

Ordered lunch via Just eat, when it arrived it was missing 1x sausage baguette, phoned to advise Barnstaple cafe to be told that the contract is with just eat and not the cafe and to complain there, reorder and pay again....I found this very frustrating especially when the order placed was for £40+ and the item missing was for a pregnant colleague who was really hungry, this was advised to the Barnstaple cafe but again told to order/pay again, for the sake of a sausage baguette for a pregnant lady I dont understand why you wouldnt just supply another sausage baguette, we even offered to pick up the item that was missing, instead of losing a customer, Big Baps is better all our business will be going to them...
