So I am part of a TV Crew with between 35-40 people on the team, and we were filming in Barnstaple for 3 days. Our catering plans had fallen through for all our evening meals, so on our first day down, i called up Tarko after having phoned around 3 other restaurants who wouldn't be able to accommodate an order so big. The wonderful Amber answered the phone and was extremely nice and made sure the restaurant could get the meals done for us!
Amber also made it very easy for me when the online payment system couldn't process an order so big at the time, and went out of her way to take all 40 orders down and see it was all made on time for us. If that wasn't enough, having spent 4 hours 2 days later trying to source another dinner run, I called up Tarko, and Amber immediately recognised me and was able to fulfill another order for 45 crew members this time! All the while being a pleasure to interact with and amazingly helpful and friendly from the get go. Amber then assured me that they would be able to provide the same service for our last day of filming, and i have to say, having been on a stressful shoot and food being a big part of the stress, Amber and the restaurant couldn't have made things any easier for me.
I would also like to thank Karen, who on the last day was there when our Runner came to pick up the food, and had everything ready for him to go at the time we arranged for the food to be ready. Karen also lifted a big weight from my shoulders when i realised i had forgotten to ask for the receipt, and was able to go back over 4 days to find all 3 receipts for our order, print them and put them in an envelope so they would be safe!
The food itself was a big hit as well, the variety they have allowed the crew to get something different for dinner every night, and were raving about the bang bang chicken, pulled brisket chili and the beyond Vegan burger, which went down incredibly well with our Vegan crewmates.
Thank you again guys, saved...
Read moreLunch for three on Saturday. Thought we would try this new restaurant but big mistake! Place looks quirky and pleasant but the acoustics are awful. Menu is fairly basic so ordered a Pulled Pork Panini with fries, Chicken, Bacon & Avocado salad and a Chicken Chorizo Pannini without fries. 20 minutes later the food turned up which we asked to be taken to another table which was a bit quieter. Waitress was very helpful moving our drinks and food. This table was much better and we at least could hear each other!! Now the food! Pulled Pork Panini tasted good but was cold and the fries were not very nice, salad was very nice and well presented, Chicken Panini was served with fries even though I said they were not required and was unable to finish it! Overall the lounge has been converted very well but don't think the food is very good. Staff are very nice and friendly but don't think we will be going back which is a shame as it's local and could have been a great asset to Witham. Cost of this lunch including tea and a lemonade was nearly £30 so left feeling...
Read moreThis is the worst place I have ever eaten. Band bang chicken, bang bang cr.p. wet mush with burnt chicken, plus dregs from the bottom of the fryer and coverd with cheese disguising or posing as cheesy fries.
Dried slice of cake - yuk.
The chef in the white top needs to take it home and wash it, very easy to see where he wipes his hands.
Management please check H&H & H&S.
There was 14 of us, the rest didn't order food as it looked like mush and they were put off, so we all left for wheatherspoons at least they are consistant, ive had better pot noodles for dinner.
In fact, for my dinner tonight, I'm going to have some breaded chicken over a pot noodle, cost - pot noodle £1.25, chicken breast c£2, total £3 against £14.?? You have put me off cheesy fries.
What a very very disappointing experience. People are going out less and less because of price hikes everywhere and you are certain ally not maintaining any momentum with your shabby cra..y food offer.
Try your own food and see if you like it.
The EHO should...
