Charlie Friday's Coffee Shop — Restaurant in North Devon

We, a group of 4 adults and 2 kids arrived at Lynton a bit later than we planned and we were looking for a place to have lunch by 14:30. Therefore, we checked the other restaurants recommended on Google search before even knowing about this place. But FORTUNATELY, all other places around this were finished serving lunch. If they did serve lunch at that time, we wouldn't have come to Charlie Friday's restaurant. But ultimately, we all were glad that it happened that way. As this is listed on Google Search as a coffee place, we did not expect that this place would be open for lunch. The staff here were many times friendlier than all other places we checked before arriving at here and food was absolutely amazing—the taste, portion size, value... everything!! The staff wouldn't just stay there and let you order just any food in any random combination—they would speak to you and recommend better options and suitable pairing so that you could truly enjoy the entire meal and the experience. They also serve "Pardal" (Czech session lager) in nice tankards which goes with the food really well on a summer day in the "Cliff" town! The interior of the restaurant and the washrooms were also very very clean and very nicely decorated. In fact, that made us spend more time here than we expected to spend in a restaurant.

Charlie Friday’s is my go to coffee shop in Lynton! I’m not sure how to sum up my feelings about this place in one little review. First off, their coffee is amazing. Every single drink I’ve tried has been excellently handcrafted and served in a cute cup. Secondly, their full English (or even just half English) is the best in the area, and by area I mean all of North Devon. Seriously, I don’t even like mushrooms but I like the mushrooms in their full English. I don’t know how they do it. Lastly, their gluten free brownies (pro tip: get one warmed up with clotted cream). I’m not gluten free and yet still frequently get their gluten free brownies. That’s how tasty they are. You can’t even tell they’re gluten free. Almost forgot their nachos! How could I forget the nachos? Whatever they put on those is pure magic because I don’t understand how else they can be so delicious. Basically, just go here and order anything off the menu and you will be content.

My Wife and I stayed in Lynton on holiday and we actually visited Charlie Friday's twice. The first was for brunch. My wife has the waffle board and I had the Mushroom on Toast. Both portions were fantastically sized and they both tastes amazing. Great Coffee great food we could have sat in here for hours (if it wasn't for other holiday plans we would have stayed much longer) We returned later that week for the Mexican night on the Thursday. And wow- shared mains we had a Quesadilla and a Burrito along with the Elotes side. This was the best Mexican I had ever eaten. Despite being full I wanted to go back and have a Taco because I knew it would taste amazing and didn't want to miss out.
