Love Heartbreak Hotel Coffee for their tasty coffees and baked goods. They also have a weekly run club on Saturday mornings, which I try to attend as often as possible. The run club is welcoming and usually has a nice mix of locals and visitors to chat to and the routes vary every week so you can enjoy a run, chat and some of Devon’s finest views at the same time - followed by a well deserved coffee and treat afterwards.

Been coming to this part of Devon for nearly a decade and somehow never noticed this spot until now. What have I been missing all this time?! Honestly, some of the best coffee I’ve ever had. And their baked goods? Easily up there with the best you’ll find in North London.

Lovely time meeting a friend here today. Enjoyed a chai latte and a choc ice both in funky mugs/ glasses and also had one of the famous salted chocolate pretzel doughnuts which was incredible! Lovely astethic here, perfect place for a drink and bite to eat with friends!

Cute place, but using a combination of half used leftover shots of old espresso to make your iced lattes is a weird vibe. The price is the same as other coffees - unfair to get leftovers.

Edit: in response to the below, I heartily disagree. Rested espresso would refer to ‘resting’ the beans after roasting but not after brewing. This kind of resting is fine, not asking your baristas ‘does anyone have a spare shot left’ and mixing them (nor pre adding your wasted shots to a jug). Brewed espresso oxidises. If someone wants a syrupy drink then maybe they won’t taste the difference, but if you’re drinking iced latte with milk alone then you will. I think your only acceptable response here would be to say you do cold brew. I’m sure you’ll update your review with the industry evidence you cite though rather than admit you have workflow issues, fail to dial in properly or are trying to...

Whilst the service I experienced was pleasant, an older couple came in asking if they did sandwiches and were essentially laughed out of the shop. Without turning their head to even look at them one of the male members of staff said they might get one done the road at CJs. The lady who was working did at least point them down the street in the right direction but it was obvious that once the they had left the 3 staff were clearly ridiculing and laughing at their question. Even if they think they’re better than the humble sandwich it just wasn’t a very unpleasant way to...

To be honest I didn’t expect to stumble across something like Heartbreak Hotel Coffee in Braunton. It looks distinctly different to what you normally find on the north Devon coast, and provides far better coffee than most other places on the north Devon coast.

We visited it every day we were staying in Braunton. Coffee is well priced, extremely tasty and the service is very friendly. The doughnuts / donuts they sell on Friday and Saturday are also excellent.

If you’re travelling through to any of the beaches I’d highly recommend stopping off in Braunton to pick up a...
