Royal Asia — Restaurant in North Devon

Despite our reservations that there was only one table occupied we took the plunge . .. Which on reflection was more of a water boarding ! I am a fair person in regards what you pay is what you get so not excpecting anything more than your average Indian fare BUT the food was plain rank. A congealed , dark brown glossy sauce wobbled (like a trifle ) onto the table with "king" prawns hiding underneath. This was the special " Goa " .. Don't Goa ! Very very tamarind with sugar laced through out . Our friends vegetable biryani was dry in the rice and vegetables scarce and oily . I believe there was alcohol in the beers ( cobra ) but from previous reviews I wish I had checked if no alcohol beer had been served !!!! Lastly service - the guy was well .... Lazy ... and a little sullen but mainly lazy with everything he did. It was all too much effort. In fact in a perverse way it was the highlight of the evening as it was something we could chuckle about...

Horrendous service. Food was supposed to turn up at 20:35, it came at 22:10. Got hung up on when called the restaurant. Food was pretty much inedible, it was cold and not nice at all. Had to microwave it just to eat what I could. Very small portions. Delivery driver had me waiting outside my estate as he said he couldn't find my address, waited outside in the rain as he said he was on my estate however he was ckearly not and seemed like he was just buying time. As soon as we said we wanted our money back, they miraculously found our property within minutes. I will be asking for my money back. Never had such a horrible meal!! Avoid...

Ordered a takeaway at 7.15 pm and was told it would be ready for collection at 8.30 pm. They asked if we could pay cash. Arrived to find lots of others, who had been waiting for sometime, who had been told '10 minutes'. We went to collect, paid, and were then told '10 minutes'. 10 minutes later were told again '10 minutes'. Eventually, at nearly 9pm it was ready. Some who had arrived before were still waiting. Really poor customer service. They tried to pretend they didn't understand, yet there was no problem taking the order. The food was nice, but not worth the...
