The Royal Exchange — Restaurant in North Devon

I live in Wales and have beautiful scenery, culture,eateries,inns and love their options of home made food. When I visit Devon for a holiday I always take a bee-line for Barnstaple for personal reasons as I love the history there and some lovely places to visit nearby and its beautiful beaches. What stands out mostly for me and is a must have and do is to visit this pub.The meals are home made from fresh and at a great price. Their roast dinners are the best I have ever tasted and plentiful which is one of the reasons why I do go back. The Landlord and Landlady there are so friendly and the place has a great friendly atmosphere there and you will feel very comfortable with the local drinkers too. Since its current staff took over from its predecessors some years ago, its gone from being just an average pub to becoming my favourite pub in town, with friendly staff, good atmosphere and "excellent quality" pub lunches, compared to the cheap and undercooked meals that other locals have experienced in the cheap wetherspoons pubs...

I've given 4 stars as in general this place is friendly not too expensive and carries a great atmosphere. I haven't yet had fthe chance to try any food as I'm usually there when I'm floating around town having a few beverages. So I've left room for improvement for when I do eventually...
