Star Express Cafe — Restaurant in North Hertfordshire

Don't know the area at all, walked round looked at a few coffee shops seemed pricey for a brew, and was all prepacked heat up behind the counter jobs. Saw a road worker by his van, asked him if he new any decent places for a fry up, he suggested hitchin lol.

As I was walking away he said hang on there a place down there called star..

So ended up in here, very clean, nice and pleasant staff at counter waiting. Food prices on par with similar styled cafes. Good selection, food and tea came out piping hot and fresh. Can't fault anything. Will use again if in the area.

Came here today for take away breakfast rolls for my colleagues and myself, was very disappointed that my egg and bacon baguette contained only bacon and scraping of egg white like they had put an egg in and then scraped it out not even a yolk in it, one colleague had a bacon soft roll only the bacon was in a burger bun and the other colleague had a bacon and sausage baguette, with only thinly sliced sausage in it. The quality was overall nice but very disappointed that was charged full price for half measures. Doubt we will be using these again unless an offer of a discount on next order...

I visited today and can I say how brilliant a member of staff handled a lady ( to be polite! ) who stood and wanted to move tables when 2 partially sighted men came in with their dog "for the blind" ......the dog was absolutely no trouble and sat under the table out of the way. She wasn't moved to another table thankfully! I really wanted to tell her to get outside at a table where I thought she belonged!! So well done, the staff have more patients than me!!, lovely place to eat and value for...
