North at Burlington in Sheringham is not just a restaurant, it is an experience so good you start wondering if you should sell your house and just move in. We had the seafood platter special, sea bass, lamb, and chicken, and honestly it felt like the chefs were competing to outdo one another and we were the lucky judges. The seafood platter was so fresh I half expected it to wink at me, the sea bass was cooked to perfection, the lamb practically melted like butter, and the chicken had me questioning why every other chicken I’ve ever eaten has been such a disappointment.
The service was next level too. The staff floated about like friendly restaurant ninjas, topping up glasses and bringing dishes at the exact moment you thought, “I could eat something incredible right about now.” It was all so smooth it felt choreographed, like they’d rehearsed a dance routine called “make these diners ridiculously happy.”
One of the best restaurants we’ve ever been to, hands down. If you’re in Sheringham and don’t eat here, you might as well stay home and lick a Pot Noodle lid because that’s the level you’re...
Read moreWe booked in the Norfolk food week. Slightly disappointed by their menu for this event: it was fairly standard gastro pub level. They also seemed to have a private function on in one of their lounges and I wonder if they were overstretched on the evening we went. Good points: Tasty food, especially the desserts. Nice dining area, most of staff were fine. Bad points: We were rebuked when some of our party were 10 minutes late for our booking time. Very noisy room. They had ran out of Savignon blanc. Told that the burgers ONLY come medium rare, that's how we cook them.( Really!!) The windows directly behind our tables were opened halfway through the meal, without asking, it blew a cold gale onto our backs. It was a cool November evening. We closed them slightly and were essentially told off for doing so "as the room was very hot". A bit expensive for what we had on the Food Week menu, quite small portions. Only one vegetarian option on that menu. Potentially a really good restaurant, but need to sort out some elements of...
Read moreWhat an experience, had seen some positive feedback before we booked and if anything they under sold the experience.
From the get go staff were brilliant-aee comments under allergies below.
Walm welcome straight to table, some good mocktails as aperitifs. Modest but good wine list.
Menu is small but the food is exceptional prawn cocktails to start, very good sized portion tasted great.
Mains panko have, crushed peas and new potatoes, fish was wonderful. Duo of lamb, three good sized slices of lamb and an individual shepards pie, with seasonal vegetables. This course was worth the visit alone truly amazing.
Deserts, after such a good meal for us just ice cream and sorbet.
We are looking forward to a return visit when next in...
