Edit: September 2025 Returned for a third visit after a year. I'm delighted to report that Number-10 is every bit as good as as our previous visits. Food, service, atmosphere and overall value still absolutely 5-stars. Tip: Booking is essential as the restaurant is very popular.

This cosy, owner managed restaurant has a warm, welcoming atmosphere from the moment you step across the threshold. Sonya and her daughter Tilda will be there to greet and seat you and to take time to chat with you.

The menu is simple, comprising fresh, local, seasonal ingredients. All dishes are lovingly prepared from scratch in the restaurant's kitchen.

We were a table of 5 and our tasty and varied choices of starters are in the photos. I'd recommend the lamb kofta on a bed of couscous and the roasted peppers with goat's cheese.

No. 10 offers 3 fish dishes on their summer menu. I had the plaice and my wife had the cod, both of which were absolutely delicious.

A vegetable dish for the table, comprising carrots and broccoli was perfectly cooked.

The desserts too are great. We'd recommend the cherry & almond tart and the Crème Brûlée.

Service is excellent, we were addressed by name having introduced ourselves on arrival to the vivacious Sonya.

5 stars in all categories. Highly recommend and great value. Will...

The food is well cooked, looks great, and tastes good. I have posted pictures. Water supplied to the table very quickly as was freshly baked bread in an olive oil and balsamic vinegar dip which was a nice touch.

How it lets itself down from my personal viewpoint is to see it from the point of a lone diner. There is no internet available (a decision taken by the owners) and the signal strength inside is poor. I happened to have a book but the lighting was so dim I couldn't read it comfortably. This leaves the lone diner with nothing to do but inspect the tablecloth or decor. Go as a couple, or as a group.

The atmosphere is retro and dates to the 1950's. I asked about the style and it reflects the personal taste of the owners as if you had been invited into their house. Music being played were a mix of both French songs and American Frank Sinatra style classics.

On my visit there was a distinct 'odour' I would describe as 'urine'. Mortified though I was to mention it, I did in the end. I am sure they will address this pretty quickly and I don't want this to put people off from going in as the food needs to be sampled.

Hopefully, this is a temporary issue and the next reviewer can update for the...

Cosy quirky atmospheric setting. Staff are warm, welcoming and very much part of the visit. Owner Sonia is fab. This was the best meal of our holiday, and frankly for a very long time. We ate the crab cake with sublime dill sauce, the lamb kofta, seasoned and spiced to perfection. Both light and moreish. My main was sea bass on spinach, husbands was Hake. Fabulously cooked, and satisfying. Despite this we just had to have a desert. We chose crème brûlée -yummy, light, perfect. And sticky toffee pudding with pouring cream. Rounded of the meal with great wine and port. A not to miss experience in this one off superb restaurant. Go there, don’t wait for a holiday… if you are a foodie you will be amazed. We won’t forget this...
