5 stars for food 3 stars for service! disclaimer we were a large party of 11 and the smaller tables did seem to get better service I used the online service to book a week and 2 days before the date we wanted to eat - I got a call back the next day and although the time requested couldn't be accommodated they offered 19.45 (only 45 mins later than requested) I was really happy with the booking service. Comes to the night of the meal at 19.09 I got a phone call informing me that our table won't be ready till 8pm again not a problem I'm glad the restaurant warned me our table won't be ready on time Restaurant is lovely well spaced and nicely decorated, we arrived at 20.00 and were seated straight away, about 20.20 our drinks order was taken and then at 20.30 we requested we at least get poppadoms to tide us over if they weren't ready to take our order yet, at 20.45 I asked if someone could please take our food order (tables seated after us were already enjoying their starters) 21.10 the first starters come out and wow! They looked amazing and tasted even better honestly 5 stars! The mains came out quite quickly after we finished starters and the service did improve, although nothing seemed to come in order some of us were sat with rice and nan and no main and the others had the main and no sides but honestly the food was worth the wait! I would recommend this restaurant all day long to smaller party's as you will be well fed and out in an hour, for large tables I would say go but pre order We did tell the restaurant we were not so happy with the service and they did look after us accordingly I do not want to this to be seen as a negative review but an honest one with a happy ending and 11 happy customers who would eat there again because I quote one of our party "it was one of the best bloody curry's...
Read moreWe turned up with no booking around 18:15 on a Saturday, and we were seated without problems - but I think we were quite lucky as it got very busy later, and most people seemed to have bookings.
The food was excellent - traditional Indian dishes as well as some Nepalese dishes that I'd never seen before, so it was a great opportunity to try something new. The food was served after a bit of a wait, but not too long, and it was delicious. Nicely presented, good portion size and very flavoursome. The naans were also served nicely and in quarters for slightly easier sharing.
The only downside was that we waited quite a long time for the plates to be cleared, and had a long wait for the bill. But it's worth noting that the restaurant was completely full by that time, and the four serving staff were working full tilt.
The total was £45 for two of us, with 4 poppadoms and pickles, one naan to share, and a main and a rice each. Not bad value at all for...

Being an ex-bank there are tall ceilings and a pair of old study vault doors on the rear wall. Interesting.
2 plain/2 spicy pappadum & chutney tray Achari Chicken Nepalese Style Lamb Curry Garlic Naan Saffron Rice
A beautiful meal. Every bite was eagerly consumed with some plate sharing also. Chicken & lamb were beautiful cooked perfectly and tender throughout.
The rice was a excellent accompaniment to be mixed in with our sauces. The naan bread was cooked perfectly with no burns to the base and a tasty garlic garnish atop.
A really nice ambiance to the room with the courteous and not too insistent service made for a very good meal experience. Good reputation...
