utterly dissapointing visit. on entrance it's grab a seat any seat not enough outdoor seating to cope when the weather peaks, queue a mile long to order, latte and a blackcurrant lemonade which was served in a cracked glass. kitchen porter must be looking at the ceiling when cleaning the crockery and cutlery? image added. sat under a beautiful spiders web im assuming the cleaner is stevie wonder with a hunchback. miserable waitress serving who didn't want to be here at all. one napkin served between two clearly on war rations. expensive menu £15.50 for fish and chips I find scandalous, went with soup and a sandwich what a disgrace. soup came straight from a tin never tasted something so terrible in my life bread was days old and bearly edible £9.95 for cold tinned soup and dry aged bread, tuna basic and the chopped peppers were the nicest thing overall between the soup and sandwich combo. mother decided on garlic chicken loaded fries for £6.95 as yet scampi was £15.50. chips cooked soon as breakfast finished by the standard of them who want's chips thats sat for 2hrs? not me but crusoe's were happy enough to serve them, chicken dry, cheese with no taste. hate to sound like a critic but this food was absolutely terrible the chef, manager and owner needs to seriously sit down and eat this cheap muck they are serving. 2hrs of my wages wasted on this disgusting food, a while since i've been but nothing they have done has made me want to come back at all I would have to be kicking and screaming to eat this prison food again. I beg you to eat a bowl of your tinned soup and see if you think its good enough to serve to paying customers, seriously need to pull this place together and get the act polished up because it...
Read moreWe had our wedding here. Overall we had an amazing day. The venue is lovely and the food was fantastic. However there were a few things we felt could be improved on.
The attitude of SOME of the staff (and I say some as not all of them were bad but a few were really rude). My family member asked for a manager and we were told there wasn't one in. Management did deal with the issue the next day when our family member put in a complaint. I think it's pretty clear to see that some staff members pull their weight a lot more than others. One girl was lovely and she was running round like a headless chicken collecting the glasses and serving people, while others were standing around chatting. I know that one of our wedding party wanted to speak to a manager on the night and they were told there wasn't one in. This could be something to consider just so this doesn't happen again.
The communication leading up to the day was poor. We had a meeting but this was 2 weeks before the wedding. I had suppliers asking me in advanced questions that I couldn't answer as I was waiting for responses either with a call back or by email. I felt like I was being a bit of a pest chasing them. I think a meeting earlier on would be ideal and then a final meeting to confirm the numbers/food 2 weeks before.
I think half 6 start for wedding venue is too late. The final ceremony time at the registry is half past 4. If they moved the start time to half 5 I think it would a big difference. The manager assured us we could get in early if they didn't have a busy day and had time to tidy up but unfortunately when we arrived the staff were standing around chatting and the cleaning up...
Read moreI’ve been here twice now and both times I’ve not had the most pleasant experience. Although the actual restaurant has nice decor and the beach is obviously stunning, there’s a few negatives I’d like to point out for improvement. Firstly, a few of the staff members were quite rude and unhelpful. The day we visited, there was a private function in one half of the bar and they were not allowing access to their own toilets. I asked a staff member if they had disabled access for my partner and she told Me we had to climb the steps to the public toilets- even though I explained my partner couldn’t manage this and she persisted we had to use the public toilet. They could have let us quickly use their toilets. We thought this wasn’t very inclusive and accommodating to disabled people. This ruined our experience as we couldn’t stay as long as we would have wanted. We also over heard a few other customers being spoken to very rudely and abruptly. On another occasion, we were waiting in a long que at the bar. No staff were around serving, however, they were all chatting and messing around behind the bar. It was lovely to see staff enjoying themselves, but at the same time, it was quite frustrating as the que was very long and you could clearly see people getting frustrated. These experiences have made us not want to visit again which we feel is such a shame as it’s a lovely venue with, of course,...
