I’m absolutely gutted because I love this place well, the upstairs part anyway. Lovely staff, top-tier scran, 10/10 every time. But today I ventured downstairs… and honestly, I wish I’d brought a priest, a menu, and a crystal ball.
First impressions? A blonde short-haired lady at the till who looked like she’d rather wrestle a cactus than serve customers. Asked if I could get a takeout she rushed me like I was on Come Dine With Me: Speed Edition. Then she shuffled us into a corner like naughty kids in detention and carried on dishing out attitude to everyone else like she was allergic to customer service.
Finally, a server came over no menu, no hello, just a sigh and a “What do you want?” Mate… I don’t know! Mince and dumplings? Chicken dinners? Unicorn steak? I didn’t bring my psychic powers today.
Then Blondie reappeared to “redeem herself” except instead of an apology, she just slapped the menu over my shoulder like a passive-aggressive ninja. At that point, I should’ve walked out dramatically with a slow clap.
To top it off, when I finally tried to ask what meats they had, the server just walked off mid-sentence saying, “I’ll be back.” No you won’t, Terminator and neither will I.
Food? Meh. 3.5/10 at best. Service? A live-action lesson on what not to do in hospitality. Moral of the story: I’ll stick to upstairs, unless Blondie’s been promoted then...
Read moreVisited for Mothers Day lunch. Will never return!
Made it clear to the server I was celiac and my meal must be gluten free. Later that afternoon it was clear this had not been the case, I was poorly for days afterwards. This was hardly surprising, the service was atrocious, if the kitchen reflected the chaos from front of house, it’s no wonder my request was overlooked.
Our main meal was served separately, pizza arrived for some of our party and the rest had to wait for their meal to arrive, as it was nearly 2pm by the time we all had our meals we felt rushed as the table was due to be vacated by 2:30pm.
I chose the lamb option, big mistake another member of our group had the same we were extremely disappointed. The meat was in thin flakes, quite tasteless, very low quality. My mother ordered the tempura prawns, this dish consisted of 3 very small prawns, wrapped. At a charge of £10, she expected tail on prawns!
When the bill arrived we were keen to make our table available, therefore speedily paid and left the premises. Later that day when I checked the receipt I was furious to learn that a £15 charge had been added for service!
Having visited this business over a year ago, it is clear there are corners being cut. We will go...
Read moreHave been to Geisha a few times previously at both sites & enjoyed ourselves however booked a table for Father’s Day and the whole meal was rushed & uncomfortable from start to finish. Was told my sleeping baby wouldn’t be able to stay in his pram due to space despite the fact there was only one other family seated in the full downstairs restaurant which also had their baby in their pram in the small car seat attachment identical to mine. Was seated back to back chair to chair with another family so if any of us wanted to get up both tables had to move. Was rushed into ordering waitress stood over us while we decided what food we wanted food was there in minutes, pasta was lukewarm. She then cleared the table whilst my older son was still eating, tried to take glasses while we were still drinking. We were in the restaurant under 40 minutes & found the whole experience uncomfortable & rushed. Wouldn’t return here based on this, really disappointing as this is a restaurant we have previously throughly enjoyed &...
