La Casetta Italian & Mediterranean Cuisine — Restaurant in North Tyneside

So, we recently tried out this little Italian, and let me tell you, it was great. The service? Absolutely fantastic! The staff made us feel like we were part of the family, and they were on top of everything without being overbearing.

Now, the food – It was really good. The chicken was cooked just right, and the sauces were like a flavor explosion in my mouth. You could taste the effort they put into making it authentic.

But what I loved the most was the vibe. It felt like you stepped into someone's cozy Italian kitchen. It's not one of those fancy places where you feel out of place; it's more like you're hanging out with family. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, making the whole experience feel like a big Italian hug.

My daughter and I were here this evening . We are from Leeds so were not sure where to eat. What a fantastic find. We both said its the best meal we've had in ages. Garlic bread was perfect as was tszaki with garlic toast. Mains, I had Sea Bass in a lovely sauce with salad my daughter had the Mousaka. We then decided on 2 desserts to share. Lemon drizzle cake and Tiramasu both were to die for. A great evening which was as near to normal as you get with lovely friendly hosts. Great value 5* meal. Sadly we had no cash to leave a gratuity as they cannot take it on cards. Make sure you have a bit of cash they deserve it. We will be back next time we are in...

Started well but went downhill. Lovely place with a good ambience. Starter of duck pate and black pudding were excellent but main course was disappointing. My land kleftiko was particularly lacking in in any sort of elegance or taste. Admittedly only one chef was on duty but with a menu of 50 to 60 dishes there just seemed too much. Maybe just stick to what you do well. I know other reviews are mostly excellent so maybe we were just unlucky. Prepared to give a 2nd chance when in the area again. Need to say hat the service...
