After reading good reviews and noticing the £20 3 course meal deal, I was excited to try the place. I received my bruschetta starter which was quite nice, I expected a nice steak to follow. I couldn't of been further from wrong, when the steak came out it looked like it had been hammered to death then grilled on a burnt skillet, a fillet shouldn't be battered. I gave it a chance and my experience got worse, the steak tasted sour and was chewy, I couldn't eat it. 1 waiter asked if there was an issue, I don't like to be a pain so I said everything was ok, I was just full, he insisted on asking again so that's when I was honest, he took it away and said he would take £7 off of my bill. When I thought things couldn't get worse, the staff broke out in to an argument and started shouting at each other, I could hear them having digs at each other while I was eating which made me feel very uncomfortable. I waited for my 3rd course which was just ice cream for over 30 minutes while the staff argued, I decided to get up and cancel my desert and pay the bill. When the cashier said it would be £17, I questioned why when all I could eat was the starter, she then went on to say the ice cream is a free part of the 3 course meal so it's still £17. At this point my experience was awful so I just paid it as I couldn't wait to leave.

AVOID at all costs, I looked through the reviews again and there are similar ones to mine, they're few and far between but this has to be the worst experience I've ever had at a restaurant. The 3 course meal sounded too good to be true, it definitely was. Don't waste your...

A tale of two halves.

I've rated this a 3 as myself and my husband visited yesterday for lunch.

He had the prawn starter that looked and said tasted, delicious, I had the potato skins that were soggy and oily.

He had a pasta dish for main that once again looked, and he said tasted, delicious. I ordered a chicken pizza no garlic that came with garlic. I told the waitress I'd asked for it without garlic and she picked it up and walked away.

No apology, or any words.

They made me another, unfortunately because they seemed to be in a hurry so I had my meal with my husbands when it was served the base wasn't cooked.

It was like eating dough.

I called the waitress over and told her it wasn't cooked, she took it away and said she would ask the manager if she could do anything, I replied with I'm not paying for it.

The manageress came over and was very nice, apologised and asked if I wanted anything else. I said no as my husband had ate his meal.

She apologised again and we paid for everything apart from the pizza and left.

The final nail in the coffin for me was the chef outside the main front doors smoking, as a non smoker, it's not what I want to see the person making my food with his hands doing. If you must smoke do it at the back doors not where your clients are walking into eat.

Huge shame as I'd heard great things about this place but I won't go back when there are better consistent quality...

Came here on Monday 1st September and we were absolutely appauled by the service we received from the minute we arrived to the minute we left. We were served by a young lad who's mannerism and customer service skills are absolutely disgusting. Took to us to our table and just threw menus onto the table and went very quickly before we even sat down. When it came to ordering he had very abrupt tone of voice especially towards my elderly relative. Who asked if she could have a coffee instead of the starter as we did the 3 course £5.95 deal and his response to that was "NO, you have to pay if you want a coffee" can't say how disgusted I was by his tone. Then he was off very quickly before I could even tell him what I wanted to drink and had to colly him back. "What drink do you want?" he said.

Well I'm sorry this lad should NOT be working in this sort of environment or any other customer service based. He ought to feel ashamed of himself. And as for the other staff in general they need more training and supervision. There doesn't seem to be any manager or anyone in charge of the restaurant. (Well that's how it feels)

The food was OK but could have been warmer.

All in all a very bad experience and we won't...

My wife and I happened into this restaurant on a Sunday night not knowing what to expect. From the moment we walked in the door, we were treated like family. It has been one of the best nights of our 2 week trip around England to celebrate our 25-year anniversary. When we told the waitress about our anniversary, she came out with drinks and dessert and made us stand up for a round of applause from the guests. She made us Americans feel like family. For the quality of the meal and drinks, we were expecting something around $100. The total was $35. I honestly can't understand how they offer such quality in staffing, food, and ambiance at this price point. I only wish we were staying another night in town so that we could come back again. What a wonderful experience. We will always have a special place in our heart for her and this restaurant.

Had dinner here last night before going to the Playhouse. It was a superb experience from entering to leaving. We were greeted by Raz who made us feel extremely welcome and showed us to our seat and told us about the specials on the menu. After chatting with us suddenly a garlic & tomato bread arrived, courtesy of him. This was gratefully eaten with our glass of wine. I followed with the slow roasted belly pork, which was a generous piece served with fresh vege and roast potatoes. My sister had chicken GHW, chicken served in a delicious tomato sauce served with chips, proper chips too. Everything was cooked fresh and it was all delicious. I would certainly return when I’m in the area and can recommend you try this lovely restaurant. Well done to all.

Yet again....Another BEAUTIFUL experience when I visit this GORGEOUS place! Sara' 💖.....Thank you for your support and kindness in the HUGE Garlic bread....For just coming again. You SERIOUSLY NEEEEED to find this little OASIS in a stunning side street up from the main Promenade in Whitley Bay. But it's ALL about the GENUINELY GOOD HEARTED souls they've managed to find to work here that's going to make it a DEFINITE #1 priority when you think of Whitley Bay though. I'm humbled 🙏 and blessed to have discovered this STUNNING place. And the passion of the chefs is visible on speaking with them!(Cause they actually do care ❤!!!) Much Love, Happiness and Prosperity😇😎💫💯☮😎
