Takdir Indian Kitchen, Grill & Cocktail Bar — Restaurant in North Tyneside

Went as a party of four people on Saturday 14th August. Three out of four mains arrived and the server asked me 'what did you order again?' at which point I knew my order was forgotten about without an apology from the server. My main arrived nearly 20 minutes later, while the rest of our party were finishing theirs. Again, no apology from the staff, I then asked for my rice which arrived with everyone else's food to be replaced, yet again no apology from the staff, just grabbed my rice to likely reheat and walked away, in fairness the lady who arrived with the replacement rice (once I had to chase the replacement) was lovely and the only memeber of staff who had the decency to say sorry. No overall apology for the fact one person's evening was entirely ruined which is frankly disgraceful customer service. The icing on the cake was at the end of the evening when we were asked if there's anything else we want to which we replied 'no we are okay for now' as our plates had just been taken away, we found no later than 30 seconds after saying this we had the bill smacked on the table...guess the restaurant presumed we obviouslyy didn't want dessert or another drink. What a shame as the food itself was nice but the overall service was nothing short of pathetic. I understand it was busy but your staff made us feel extremely rushed like they wanted our money and thrown out for the next customers to arrive, you have a lot of work to do on your customer service, utterly shocking experience and I'm so happy to have left and never...

Very disappointed, how can you get a biryani wrong, there were several students/teenagers taking the orders tonight and they clearly had no grasp of what an Indian menu is, my biryani or rather the chicken tikka and rice turned up covered in lettuce and with no vegetable curry, but instead I was served a madras sauce with no vegetables, After making my feelings known to the students/teenagers, nothing was resolved, I went to pay expecting a discount only to be confronted by a small Indian/Bangladeshi bloke behind the bar who refused to give me his name and who appeared to be in charge but in fact called his manager, and he clearly didn’t have a clue either, they offered me a 10 percent discount, I just paid it and walked out, Disgraceful place, my last night in Whitley bay, and my stay there was marred by this place, never again, such a shame as I really enjoyed my visit to this part...

I have eaten here before and the food was ok but last night was absolutely shocking. The waiter had a proper attitude problem, so much so my lamb tikka starter was on the table before the pint of cobra, around 20 minutes. The main meal was inedible, I’ve never had chicken as tough as that, I sent it back straight away informing him that I wouldn’t be paying for such low standard food, the waiter insisted that he would need to speak to the manager to reverse the bill, another 15 minutes later I’m still sitting at my table with no food or drink. The customer next to me walked out after not getting his drink which he ordered 15 minutes previously, shocking. I ended up paying for my starter and drink and went for a chip butty, not what I was intending to do.
