Me & my husband popped in on the off chance as we where in Whitley bay. The place is lovely very nice, staff very friendly and helpful. Food is lush we would definitely recommend to a friend and definitely come back. We both ordered the mix grill as our mains and both ordered different starters., I had the garlic mushrooms which my husband finished,he loved them that much. he ordered the meatballs in sauce as starter. The place was decorated lovely and christmassy with all the lights and Christmas tree.

Traditional Turkish food. Wonderfully polite staff. The best dish we had was the Kremali Tuvak which was a delicious creamy chicken dish with mushrooms. Not dissimilar to stroganoff but with more flavour. The Iskendar said it was served on bread so I assumed it would be a flat bread. But it was thick bread & served in the clay pot with sauce which made the bread soggy which wasn't great but the chicken shish was so delicious it made up for it The lamb was huge & dropped off the bone. Really great meal

Without a doubt this restaurant has been given tender love and care and a fantastic new upgrade. The place is beautiful inside with a great ambience, but based on our experience the service and food did not live up to the expectations. After being recommended by numerous friends and family my husband and i were really looking forward to our first date night of the year. On arrival we were left standing at the front of house for 10 minutes before anybody even came to see if we had a booking or would like a table, and no it wasn't busy either it was only 5pm. We were then taken to our table and once again left for a further 15 minutes before anybody even asked us if we would like a drink. The options on the menu were very inviting, we opted for chargrilled swordfish on a bed of roasted peppers, aubergine and roasted cherry tomatoes served with rice and a pan fried sea bass with a Mediterranean salad and a homemade tartar sauce. The swordfish came out over cooked and dry, certainly not succulent, but edible none the less. Its a great tasting fish regardless but not when its served on a bed of vegetable slop. It looked as tho some one had made a tomato broth, threw some vegetables in and reduced them to an oily tomato mush and served it with a small round of over cooked uncle bens rice. The tartar sauce may have been homemade with a jar of shop bought salad cream with chunks of carrot and something that did not taste remotely of either dill or capers. (the star ingredients of any tartar) The sea bass 😱 oh lord. Ive had better fillets from the frozen section of Aldi. This was a very poor quality fillet of fish. As we are not wasteful we begrudgingly ate our meals as we tried not to let it ruin our evening. As for the salad, putting tomatos, cucumber and far too much parsley on a plate is hardly a show stopper. The star of the show was the side order of sweet potato fries, which were probably frozen no doubt. I am absolutely gutted that our meal was not at all delicious. This was our first meal out in 9 months. When you pay decent money to eat out you expect better quality than that of a pub meal. I will stick to my own home cooking thanks. Also the toilets, oh my goodness, filthy does not cover it. Someone is just scribbling on your toilet check chart as they don't look like they have been properly cleaned in weeks, terrible really, especially during a health pandemic. There were pubic hairs, dust and grime all over and probably still is, thank god they had a hand sanitising station outside of the toilet as well after touching that pull bar. We then sat for a further 15 minutes after our meals had been cleared by a girl that doesn't even speak english so there was no point in complaining to her as she did not even speak whilst clearing our plates. We then got that sick of waiting that my husband had to get up and go and ask Sherif for our bill as we just wanted to leave. Not once were we asked by anyone if everything was OK or wether we had enjoyed our meal until we were leaving when the owner decided to ask us. Unfortunately he does not receive negative feed back very well and had a bit of an attitude problem and his body language and facial expressions gave off the impression that he was totally offended that we didn't enjoy the mighty Turknaz. Instead he decided to give us a lecture infront of other customers waiting to come in after my husband referred to his vegtable slop as pre-made vegetable mush that they probably use for numerous dishes on the menu, not the roasted abergine, cherry tomatos and peppers as stated. No apology, no discount, no nothing. Well apart from some appauling customer service. We won't ever eat at your restaurant again, you have totally put us off. Over priced and arrogant. Great combination. Stick to making kebabs, we are all aware you have an award for that before you mention it. Also listen to you customers, I know its hard when you have an ego as big as your own but seriously this was not an...

We wanted to like this place. One of our party is Turkish and we'd recently been to Turkey, so this was a treat we were all looking forward to.

From the start things weren't right - we were greeted with a mixture of confusion and indifference. I was willing to let this go on the basis that maybe the place was busy and staff were flustered, which is understandable. Our party have all worked, or work in kitchens - we know what it can be like.

We asked about wine (they forgot to give the wine list) and we were offered a very inflated price for a small bottle of raki. The beer and wine (by the glass) that we received were fine though.

The food, all arriving at once (no problem with that), was plonked down in a very inattentive manner that bordered on indifference, or even rudeness. We had previously read the menu and the reviews online and were sadly pretty crestfallen collectively. The liver was promising, but the kalamar was shocking. The mixed grill was incredibly overpriced and cooked with no care whatsoever. The borek and the breads were very nice, we were offered no water. The tablecloth was dirty on arrival too.

The flashy website gave an impression of pride that was not apparent in the meal that we were served. We would not return...

Visited as a party of 4 this week for an evening meal. I ordered scallops for starters and even though they tasted good there was only 3 exceptionally small, about the size of a 10p piece, with a very small amount of salad for £8.95. The main for us all was a mixed grill. Again tasty, but what they describe as a selection of meats is exceptionally small. 2 small cubes were the marinated lamb and what they describe as the ribs was a piece no longer than my little finger so for £17.95 very expensive. The desserts we opted for apple crumble and custard at £5.95. This was served as cold, a piece no bigger than 6 spoonfuls with an exceptionally small amount of cold custard on top, probably 2 spoonfuls. Staff were very pleasant but I feel the portions have been cut dramatically for the price paid as our bill totalled £165. When I booked I told them this was a surprise meal for my best friend which I informed them on line when I booked and when I quietly asked a member of staff if a special dessert could be supplied he said it was just what was on the menu and added that they had even run out of Turkish delight. Like I said tasty but...
