Ship Inn Benton — Restaurant in North Tyneside

On Sunday the 17th of November i thought I would treat my granddaughter for a Sunday dinner. Going of some great feed back we managed to go to the ship inn at benton we arrived 20 minutes before we were booked in and that's when the nightmare began .a large group of youths were outside making a racket and rather obnoxious to customers arriving let's put that to one side on entering the pub we were met with a rather un warm welcome the waitress was more interested in what her boyfriend had been up to the previous evening. We asked for our table and were met with a load of faul mouthed cheek from her saying we had arrived to early so that to one side made our way to the bar to order some drinks the warm welcome continued there i asked for some drinks and was blanked coz someone she new was there and served him first I accepted this and eventually got served. The drinks were over priced and served in dirty glasses. We were told our table was available so went to sit down only to find the previous customers dirty plates and drinks were still on the table we asked could they be removed only to be told to chill out and when she had time they would clear up .eventually we got a clean table and waited to order our food .we ordered Sunday roast x3 after waiting another 25 minutes it turned up well it was disgusting under cooked served on dirty plates and basically wouldn't let a bog eat of them i complained yet again about the food and was met with a barrage of cheek I told my partner and granddaughter we were leaving .as we were walking out the door I managed to look into the kitchen witch is in a right mess and looked very un clean I will never be going back there and would strongly advise others to follow suit in my opinion the place needs shut down and new staff in place horrible horrible atmosphere horrible staff and basically stay well away from it please Please people if your after food go else were the ship inn at benton is a...

We decided to give this a go with the new management. Unfortunately it was not the best. The service was great, we didn't wait long for our meals. There was a good selection of vegetables but the beef was tough and fatty. When we went to get cutlery there was dog hair in the cutlery basket. We were given clean replacements from the kitchen but to be honest it put us off our meals. Hope these issues...
