Oh dear, really slooooow service, along with a restricted choice of eats, followed by clearing the used crockery off one of several filthy tables (to be fair, the floor was filthy too - do you see a pattern developing?). On taking the used cups, etc to the counter on a tray and standing while wondering where to set them, one of the counterstaff eventually 'did us a favour': "Hey, I'll take that off you!" The favour didn't extend to wiping the table. Went and got an extra chair for the table and settled down to drink my large cappuccino. Tilted the cup to my mouth but struggled to find something to drink. Spooned out the foam and chocolate dusting (I asked for cinnamon) and was greeted by a half-empty mug. But it's okay, it was made by a trainee - that’s alright then, NOT. On draining the mug it also had lots of little black spots adhering to the inside of it. A memorable visit for all the wrong reasons.

Lacks customer service… one guy serving 5 Perone in a queue in front if me guy serving is talking away to customers the other guy is outside on the pavement chatting to customers as well.. I’d to go out to ask him was he working here! When it was my turn guy named two coffees and asked which one I prefer…. As he wasn’t offering me a free tasting, I thought it was rather stupid question… Service very slow… I’ll never understand why they pour boiling hot water on freshly ground coffee … are Baristas not told during their training it ‘burns’ the fresh coffee… plus it’s about 30 min before you can actually drink it… this practice is not used in the whole if Europe… they just let it drain through when the make the shot! why do we have to suffer it in UK?

Cafe Nero in Holywood is a lovely spot to unwind. The cozy atmosphere, friendly staff, and consistently good coffee make it a great place to relax or catch up on work. The seating area is comfortable, and there’s a nice selection of pastries and sandwiches. Perfect for a quick coffee break or a leisurely chat with friends!

Tried our best to refrain from putting a negative review but myself and the other parents have agreed that there’s been too many rude interactions with one particular female staff who has her red hair constantly in a bun. We have concerns over her lack of professionalism:

1.) Whenever myself and my colleagues have come for drinks in the morning, she is in a foul mood and clearly doesn’t want to be here. Often seen being extremely slow or no interaction at all.

2.) Recently I saw how poorly she treated a wee girl at the till. The staff made a mistake not putting the transaction through the card machine and the wee girl waited until the she was done preparing. The woman rudely told her to pay by card and the girl told her that the transaction hasn’t shown yet and frustratedly put the transaction through. There was no apology made. She even continued this rude attitude while serving my friend after.

It is a shame since I was being served by a lovely kind red haired woman with long hair and she was very professional and kind to me and prepared my baby capuccino well.

We understand that being a barista is a complex job but what we don’t understand is owning up to a mistake and not being kind at all.

I will be recommending other coffee shops to the other parents...

Normally this Caffe Nero is no different from any other I have visited and would receive 5 stars. During a recent visit I watched as a young child was lifted onto the counter where food is served and she sat there for a couple of minutes while the young woman with her and a member of staff attended to a problem, possibly a cut finger, although I'm not sure. Is this not a little un-hygienic? Could whatever the problem was not have been dealt with elsewhere? There are plenty of other places within the premises. I did contact Caffe Nero complaints (almost a week ago), but have received no response. Strange, as they are very quick to answer compliments. Disappointed. Update: Caffe Nero Customer Support contacted me after I left the above review and advised that: Your comments have already been taken back to the Area Manager for the store. There are procedures for dealing with such matters and this will be revisited by my colleague and the store team. At no point, should we place a child on the counter for such reasons. We do not expect this to happen again. Thank you for taking the time to bring this matter to our attention, as it is only with such feedback that we...
