Icon Fish & Chips — Restaurant in Northern Ireland

Me and my mum used to love coming here for food if we were out in Lisburn, but it’s really really gone downhill. Yesterday we decided to go here for lunch and ordered two fish and a chip between us, portion of super sauce and bread and butter.

Whether it’s a cost cutting thing or what? All the vinegar bottles look old and the labels peeling off. They must be refilling the vinegar bottles with cheap watered down vinegar or just putting water in the vinegar to save money. Obviously we understand being a business at this time is difficult, but it was absolutely vile as someone who loves vinegar. We kept putting it on and it just kept making the food soggier and soggier with no flavour.

Overall the food did lack flavour as a whole, the chips were greasy/oily, and the super sauce was so thick it wouldn’t even move when we turned it upside down inside the metal gravy boat? Which made us both feel totally sick because we ended up seeing a sort of skin on top. We realised it wasn’t totally fresh then.

The fish was ok, little bit flavourless, batter could have been crispier but after pouring the amount of vinegar on we did, it probably was ruined anyway due to lack of flavour

On the way out of the restaurant we noticed on the front door a 2 STAR food hygiene rating which confirmed to us that the place has really gone down hill, and actually made us feel totally sick. We won’t be back. Only thing nice...

Called into this place this afternoon for lunch as I had been here few times before on upon entry I waited standing about waiting to be served as there where 3 staff members talking not even bothered aprohing me either as all 3staff stayed behind counter more instersed in turning up volume for miusc as it seems more important than serving customers two other customers showed up behind me I had asked staff member after 5 minutes standing around if I could sit in ??? As I noticed other customers were sitting in the staff member response was NO there was no reason either which I was very confused with as why other customers were aloud sit in?? Myself and two other customers in restaurant both walked out I will not be back as service was that bad and been lied to by a staff member who could not be bothered even saying sorry there website says this place is open from 10am and I showed up before 1 I'll...

Well located chip shop in the centre of Lisburn. Loads of seats inside and a sitting area while waiting for take away. Very nice staff - comprehensive menu. Kids menu and plenty of choice ( see photos ). Food was decent. It was very busy when we were in there - but they were managing fine. I would give the location 4.5 stars...so possibly 4 stars, but since the staff were so friendly - pushes it to 4.5/5 stars. Only downside for me - only 1 mixed use toilet for the location - as it was a busy day...there was a que. The tea was served with the mini cartons of long life milk...a bit of a killer. I seen on the way out a carton of real milk in the desert fridge! No tea top up was offered...other that this ( and I am really being picky as hell!) the chip shop was a good decision for a tired and hungry family :-) Will be...
