Arrived at about 3pm to find a large queue. After about 20 mins moving very slowly inside and observing how the counter staff were working it was obvious where the problems existed. To have only ONE coffee machine operating for 4 staff is absolutely ridiculous. Awful unnecessary pressure to put on the girls who were already stressed out by demand. Actual machine broke down for a few minutes adding to their stress and customers frustration. The customers were bunching at the door and there was a lot of confusion re what people were in queue for and no proper signage or separation between the drinks, cakes and Ice Cream. Staff were stumbling over each other to add sprinkles to ices that were wrongly situated beside the coffee dispenser. 3 Customers were moving in and out of queue and ordering an ice cream and hen adding a coffee much to the annoyance of those only waiting for coffee.
Maybe operating with a one way system with larger spaces between the different options available would be a help.
I hope you take this on board as constructive criticism and I look forward to returning to enjoy what were absolutely fabulous cakes, savouries and coffee without waiting 45 minutes...

ย ย ย Read moreThe Bakery where vegetarian means "just a little meat". I am not going to comment on the curt/borderline hostile customer service and instead comment on the utter lack of care and attention paid by the staff to cross contamination of food.
I have watched staff reach their hands into meat containers, then cheese and then salad - wearing gloves - but without utensils, with little bits of everything landing in each container.
A few months ago I ordered a vegetable soup that included something that looked suspiciously like boiled meat - I will admit they took it back and apologised.
Today I ordered some curry sauce, I asked very clearly if it was just curry sauce and did not have any meat in it and was told that it was just the sauce. When I opened the packet, not only was there chicken in it, but there also appeared to be some mince and tomato from a lasagna.
Long story short, if you have any dietary restrictions, please...
