The Quirky Bird - Social Enterprise Cafe — Restaurant in Northern Ireland

Very disappointed in visit to Quiky Bird today. The service was terrible, had to ask for menus then waited 10mins before order was taken. Drinks served immediately, but it was a good 40mins before our food arrived with no explanation as to the reason for the delay. Others who came in after us had their food at least 15mins before we did. Other people complained only to be told by the man who seemed to be in charge that it was all the fault of a young waitress. This man seemed to flap about pointing out to the young girl that this table was waiting on tea and that table was waiting on coffee instead of doing it himself! Food was ok when we eventally got it and a bit overpriced for what we had and for the length if time we had to wait. Will be a long time...

For a work conference I ordered 3 platters of gourmet and 1 signature with a mix of traybakes. It came to 100gbp. The quality of the sandwiches was excellent. Really lovely bread and interesting mix of flavours. The portions were really good and the whole spread went down a storm with the international guests who all complimented the food and presumed we had ordered in some michelin starred crowd to cater. The male manager in this place is rude, impatient and dismissive. The music is loud and destroys any ability to chat to friends. Also it’s a gawd awful radio station. When asked they were ‘unable’ to turn it down. We arrived before 3.30 and were greeted with “We close at 4.” The coffee was ok and the apple tart had a splat of fake cream on top.
