I visited the bakery this morning as I woke up with a craving for decent bread. Parking is not easy, it seems as if you have to drive over the pavement to get to the parking near the shop front, and one of these spaces appeared to be filled with a table and chairs. The shop has a nice and fresh appearance, the lady who served me was friendly. I asked for a soft white tin loaf and was given three options. I asked for the Farmhouse loaf and to have it thick sliced. There were no prices next to these loaves (there may have been a pricing board somewhere in the shop, but I didn't see it), so when I handed over a £5 note and only received 25p change, I was a little shocked. I appreciate that this is a small, local bakery and I expected to have that reflected in the cost, but £4.75 for a loaf of bread? The closest equivalent in sainsburys is £1.60, or even from Bread Source it's only £3.50. The bread itself was soft and nice enough, but no better than any other bakery loaf I have eaten. Read moreLovely to find a corner bakery. I was driving past at the right time for once and decided to have a nose! THE BEST cheese straws I have ever tasted. You may think it looks pricey but every penny you spend there is yummy points!
I also bought a gingerbread man and MARMITE sausage roll. Now I have found this bakery I will definitely be back soon :D
