Urban Lounge — Restaurant in Norwich

Genuinely pleased we stopped by today. The decor and vibe is quite nice with a choice of outside or inside dining which was perfect for todays weather.

We collected a menu and sat outside to have a look. The menu has a good selection with everything sounding quite mouth-wateringly tasty making it a tricky choice ! We settled for eggs Benedict and the chilli breakfast naan (because why not)

The food took around 30 minutes which we had been warned of when placing the order so the IPA and coffee got us through. I will be honest 30 minutes is definitely the limit I would be willing to wait at a small location considering it was not heaving it at least gave me plenty of time to relax and chat and look forward to my food. Toilets are very clean and the decor was very cool 💪

As you can see from my Photos it looks absolutely amazing. Aroma, presentation and taste were perfection.

As JP Wiser once quoted “Quality is something you just can't rush. Horses should hurry, but whisky must take its time” or in this case, food!which was completely worth the wait.

I thoroughly enjoyed my visit extremely pleased with the taste of my dish and the friendly service received.

Went here for lunch at about 1245 on the 08/11. The place was pretty quiet, with there only being another 4 tables having food. The decor was nice and it was clean and tidy.

Ordered 2 coffees, the full breakfast and a breakfast bap at around 1250. After waiting around 40 minutes, I asked if there was an update on our food. The chap behind the counter said he'd check with the kitchen and get back to us, apolgised and that they had been busy earlier. We never got that update.

We stayed for about another 15 minutes before deciding that waiting nearly an hour for the food was excessive and asked for a refund. The staff apologised, reiterating that they had been busy earlier and the food should be ready any minute. I laughed and said we'd been in nearly an hour and there were only 4 other tables occupied.

I was refunded for the food and drinks. Apparently our food was ready and they'd box it up for us to take away free of charge. I thought this was nice touch and redeemed what was a pretty terrible experience. That was until we waited nearly another 10mins and still nothing, so we just left.

It seemed like the kitchen were serving one table at a time and no seems to have any urgency about them.

I've been here 3 times and would never go back. The first time my friend cut her leg open on some dodgy wire out front, no accident book was filled in and not much of an apology made, manager said he would put a sign up (rather than fix it) which 3 months later still hasn't been done. Second time food was alright, so we came back a third time with our toddler for brunch. We were told 10 mins after ordering that there was a 30 minute wait on food. 20 minutes later we had received none of our hot drinks or the tap water we'd asked for (which we never got). Our toddler was crying as he was so hungry so we ordered the sausage rolls we'd noticed at the counter. Rather than just giving them to me over the counter, we waited a further 15 minutes. After 40 mins waiting we decided to leave, and noticed that the manager had been sat with his friend at a table having a coffee for the whole time we'd been there. When we gave our feedback politely to the waitress, the manager just stared at us, didn't even come over to apologise. Only two waitors on a Saturday morning, allowing them to take the flack and run around like headless chickens while he slacks off in front of customers.
