I pass at least 6 Indian restaurants every week to make a 20 mile complete journey to Roti due to what is the best curry dishes available in my view and if necessary, I would travel twice the distance given the high quality cuisine here.
The quality of dishes and standards is unmatched by any of its competitors with for example, one Indian that I drive past (Ahmed Spice) having a different curry for each different visit there despite the curry dish being the same named dish as before ( presumably because they use different chefs on different days ). This ends up as a different type of dish for the same dish on each visit!
Similarly, the Indian Village next door offering a great service but serving watery lamb soup - curry in thin soft bendy plastic tubs which are clearly not suited for these types of Take Away dishes and then further the Rose of India in Attleborough who offer quarter full containers containing microscopic portions " that would not even fill up a large house-fly " let alone a fully grown up adult .
I could go on and on with each other consecutive Indian that I drive pass though the end result is always the same in that a dissapointing surprise is always in the waiting.
I have never encountered any of these types of " nasty suprises " from Roti and as such, I feel that it is my duty to comment on the brilliance of this place. The quality is " Award Winning " in class and frankly, I can honestly say that I could not be any more impressed with the class of food that this restaurant makes.
A new tier in excellence has just been...
Read moreWe have been using roti since sammi and Chelsea took over. Having spent nearly 30 years living and working across the whole of the uk i have to say that this is probably the best Indian restaurant i have ever used. The food is always spot on and nothing is ever too much trouble for them. We recently visited with our two daughters, neither of them have eaten much Indian food so Chelsea asked their wonderful chef to prepare a taster buffet just for my daughter, which she loved and eat the lot! My friends from kings lynn drove to norwich just to try roti based on my recommendation and they said it was even better than they expected and are looking forward to coming back. I can't recommend roti highly enough and if you love Indian food please give them a try, you won't be...
Read moreWe last visited Roti about three years ago and loved it, but understand that it had a change of owner associated with a fall in quality. There are now new owners who are working to restore the reputation of good food and a friendly service. Following a theatre visit to Norwich we had the opportunity to eat there again a couple of days ago. The restaurant looked very smart and clean, the tables attractively laid and the staff were very friendly and attentive.
Obviously a different menu, but the food was really good, the spicing seemed just right to us and the portions of good size.
Overall it was a good after theatre dining experience and the bill was very acceptable!
We hope to return in the near future, and wish the new team every success in their...
