Although I've been on many visits before and had take out roasts that were amazing. On two occasions in the past few months I've been so frustrated with this place. Firstly I had a pushchair so not easy to maneuver indoors but said I wanted to eat/drink outside which the person at the counter said I could just sit outside and wait to be served; I did just that. I sat outside for 20 minutes and still no one attends to me, even after a table was cleared near to me did I even get noticed. I went back inside to order a drink and asked if I could have someone take my order. Again, I was asked to wait outside. After not being served again after another 15 minutes pass I decided to leave. Wanting to give Bet Street a second chance I opted to go back daytime on a Saturday not long before 2pm (again with a pushchair) I asked if I could sit outside; I was told no problem someone would be with me shortly to take my order. 15 minutes pass, I go in to only be told they are no longer serving lunch (I wasn't told this upon my arrival). So again leave very disappointed and frustrated as to why I bothered returning. (Bearing in mind that my choosing to sit outside was that my little one in the pushchair was asleep both times and there wouldn't of been the room inside for me and a pushchair beside me at the tables available).
I do intend to go back again at some point - but I honestly hope that the service has...

After meeting some lads at a cash game of Scrabble in Norwich Brewdog lastnight, I got the lowdown on the cities breakfast scene, and apparently this place 'The Ber Street Kitchen' is ground zero for breakfastgeddon. Let's have a look, shall we?
Wallop! What a service from the Ber Street Kitchen'! This is a glorious portion of breakfast excellence. Bacon, Sausage and Eggs, all par for the course, well cooked, good ingredients.. but may I draw your attention to the black pudding bonbons? It's breakfast confectionery of the highest order. These babies were succulent, juicy and ever so slightly sweet - superb! Just like the vine ripened tomato served on the side. Toast AND fried bread you say? Doubling down here on the hashbrowns also which were crisp perfection. They didn't leave mushroom for improvement here and the coffee was excellent. Priced at the high end of the breakfast scale just at the £10 mark, this still represents I believe good value for money as the scale of this meal and variety and quality of ingredients were excellent. The beans could have had a bit longer in the pan, and the sausage wasn't deployed as a breakwater between the eggs and beans - sins I will have to forgive.
It's only my first time in Norwich, but I have to say I am in agreement with the locals. This is clearly the best breakfast in...
Read moreI popped into the Ber Street Kitchen with a couple of friends for breakfast. Genuinely one of the best full English breakfasts i've eaten in a long long time.
For £12.95 you got 2 rashers of bacon, 2 sausages, 2 poached eggs (or scrambled & fried), black pudding bonbons, bubble and squeak bon bon, hash brown, grilled tomatos, baked beans, grilled mushrooms, fried bread and 2 slices of toast.
There is option to have a smaller version of this plus things like Eggs Benedict or bacon rolls. Plus, lighter options if you're not that hungry.
The food arrived arrived really hot and incredibly well cooked after around 20 minutes of waiting.
The staff are really friendly welcoming and were kept busy by the constant flow of individuals coming in and out for food or take-away food. It does get very busy, so it is well worth booking in advance to guarantee you a table.
There are other options available later in the day, sausage rolls, scotch eggs, various slices of cakes and sandwiches. Plus afternoon tea or Sunday roasts available. They sometimes do special evenings like a burger night.
Definitely worth a visit, I can't...
