I've been to this restaurant more than 8 times now over several years. This should suggest something about a) the quality of the restaurant and b) some quality about me. The food here is consistently excellent. Very authentic, no cut corners, 100% flavour. The menu is dressed with several common dishes for the western cultured patron, bust also some authentic dishes that will test your pallet. However if you are eating out with friends or family at a restaurant, the food is less than half the experience. And sadly the last 3 times I have been to the Teahouse I have been sorely let down. The first of these I took some close friends out for a meal, after raving about the food. The staff not only took 45mins from ordering to begin to bring the starters, but the food they did bring was not what we had ordered. Other tables around us who had ordered after us, were already asking for the bill. It was all very embarrassing (both for me, my guests and the restaurants). Everyone seemed very apologetic. Considering this as a one off, I then took my parents to the Teahouse. We had exactly the same experience. Slow, in-observant service, and lots of dishes mixed up. Really? This can't happen three times in a row??! Today we turned up 2 minutes before the restaurant opened. We were the first to be seated... and still the table behind us (who also had 6 members to their party) were served starters and a main course, had paid and left before we even received our starters. In fact many of the tables in the restaurant which were occupied after we had ordered were tucking in to their main course before we even received our starters. I raised a complaint with the staff, and I was fobbed off with a "very busy kitchen" excuse. Our starters were largely spare-ribs, chicken satay and some won-ton soup (which still hadn't arrived when I'd finished my main course, so I cancelled it) which certainly shouldn't take 45mins to cook. We paid cash, but were never given the small amount of change back (£3) ...it was just taken as an assumed tip (I presume!). Suffice to say I will never set foot in this rude establishment while my heart still beats. This entire experience says about the restaurant (a) that the food is amazing, but the service has taken a swan-dive into the pavement recently. What this experience says about me? I'm too forgiving and expect a consistently good experience every time I visit the same restaurant. I trust this review will act as a warning to future patrons, and a lesson for the...
Read moreI apologise for writing something so negative but I feel it is important for people to hear, especially the disabled community. I loved this restaurant, it was honestly our favourite take-out food for our once every two weeks family movie night. Then, all of a sudden, when placing orders through Deliveroo and the restaurant accepting them they would be cancelled hours later, ruining the evening. I found out the restaurant was changing and only open until 4pm so the next time I made the order with enough time but the same thing happened. I finally contacted the restaurant today and whomever answered the phone was so upsettingly rude to me, did not want to explain anything to me and kept trying to hang up on me. He told me that they were now only offering a certain type of menu and Deliveroo hadn’t updated it for them. The gentleman went on to say, begrudgingly, that I should go online to look at their menu but when I tried to click on the link to menu an error page occurred which I have attached by screenshot. I tried to explain that Google were showing very different menu options, opening times and delivery options but I was once again, being rushed off the phone, told that Deliveroo had not updated what they asked for even though I was siting the owner part of the restaurant I information on Google which only they can update. I have attached again more screenshots to show what they are showing. There is also a customer review from a month ago talking about meals that they have not provided ‘for months now’. I was most upset at the last point in our conversation when I was pushed off the phone and finally hung up on when I tried to explain about being disabled, in a wheelchair, but would be excited to try their new menu. I wanted to know what delivery options they had or, if we dined in, what disability access they had. Before being hung up on I was once again informed that they were not a partner with Deliveroo so would not be delivering, (I attach other screenshots from the ‘Owner Section’ of Google for the restaurant showing so much advertising between themselves and Deliveroo still) while learning nothing of what they offered for disabled, wheelchair bound people in their restaurant. It was a very upsetting and uncomfortable phone call from a very loyal customer. I also disagreed very much how the only time he made to talk to me was about Deliveroo being to blame for much of this when it is very easy for an owner to change or update their details at least on...

I visited Baby Buddha after it being recommended by a friend. I'll start by saying the waiting staff were pleasant and the food I ordered was good, particularly the dim sum.
However, despite being 2 out of 6 people in the entire restaurant, we waited 40mins to be served and again between courses, which seemed excessive.
Although I cannot complain as to the quality of the dim sum, £14 for a 'platter for two' which consisted of just 8 pieces didn't represent great value and the same is true of the main dishes. £15 for a main isn't astronomical but considering the distinctly average portion sizes and £5 for accompanying rice, we ended up paying over £30 each for a meal, which although admittedly tasted nice wasn't entirely satisfying, walking out with a lighter wallet and room to spare.
Of course I have happily payed more for meals in the past (even in five guys), but there doesn't seem much here to justify the expense and I really feel this more a case of flagrant over charging. And this feeling that they're trying to extort as much cash out of you, is the feeling we left with as when it came to settling up, we weren't allowed share the payment due to the establishments frankly ridiculous £50 minimum charge per card on a split bill.
So although the food is nice, it's the overall experience that leaves a bad taste. The atmosphere wasn't welcoming and it's plain that they see each of their customers solely as a £50 minimum charge with no interest in justifying that premium by providing an...
