This restaurant opened on last Friday so it's trying it's best to do a a good job. I went there with my family to have iftar. We ordered mixed Grill, tandoori roti, vanilla milkshake, chocolate Milkshake, malai cha,Chicken Biryani, Hakim, lamb Karai with nun bread. While waiting they offered us onion bhsjis for iftar from the house and okra or bhinfi bhsji during meal to try free. They asked me for an honest review so that they can improve. Here is the review: Restaurant is clean, setting is good. Menu choices are simple . Staffs are welcoming and got a smile in their face. Lamb Karai meat was a bit chewi and the overall the spices were good but a bit oily . Mixed grill cane on three different times first the chicken leg that was quite burnt in one side, lamb chop was okay, chicken tikka is good and tender, sheikh kebab is good. Chicken biryani does not look as colourful as the photo on the menu bit taste good. Hakim is good so as the chips with skin. Vanilla milkshake was too milki they should add a bit more vanilla flavour to it that's my son's opinion. Lots of items were not available yesterday at 8pm like mango lassi, fish curry, bubblegum milkshake . Malai cha was very strong and got less cream it's more like karak cha . They served fizzydrink can where the price is mentioned 75p for retail. By law you cannot sell it in higher price unless you are serving it by pouring it down I mean hiding the price code. Service is slow .
Since it's a new restaurant lots of people came to say hello and have shated tea, they were very noisy . It might be ok if the other customers were in their own home . Staffs were scared to loose customers so didn't tell them to lessen their noise level. Customers children were sitting on top of the table and lying down crying on the table.
May be ii added a desi vibe to some people . But to me it's a non standard behaviour of desi customers in UK as it was disturbing to other people . My kids closed their ears to avoid the noise and wanted to go home.
Staffs were trying hard to thrive in the highly competitive Hyson green area. They are offering good breakfast menu and Jake's Puri.
Best part was one of the chef was women so hats if to that to create job for women as it's a respect.
I wish the restaurant very best one request to the customers please respect others and keep your voice down and tell your kids to behave as if they are in school not in a desi party or a...
Read moreWent for a late dinner as recommended by some shops in the area. Mr.Ali , one of the owners was very welcoming and made every effort to keep us engaged and enjoy the meal. He advised us to have their best item in the menu which is kAchi biryani. We agreed and were served two plates per adult. However , I am afraid the meat used in the kachi biryani was too hard for us and we struggled to tear it or chew it properly. The rice was good and quality of ingredients is great, it was not too spicy just right and we had no issues after having food from the restaurant. I already passed the feedback on the meat used directly to Ali. It needs to be tender please. The ambience was very relaxing and seating arrangement is comfortable. The standing heater right besides the table kept us warm in the freezing weather. The chai was amazing and we thank you for the complement. I can certainly give 5 stars for the service but an honest review on the food brings the over all experience down by 2 points. Will certainly give it another chance to try their halwa...
Read moreTried out this new restaurant, It wasn’t too crowded, which I appreciated. The vibe was chill, peaceful background vocals played, and the decor was on point👌
I tried a few things on the menu. The biryani was a winner for me—flavorful and not too heavy. The parathas were super authentic. And the chips had that homemade vibe, which was a nice touch. Bottle of water was served complimentary. 🍶
On the downside, the lamb curry tasted good, but the lamb pieces were a bit tough—could’ve been cooked a bit more. The Halwa didn’t do it for me; it was missing that sweet punch of flavor. He also gave us a complimentary daal to try, which was warm and had a nice texture but could have used a bit more salt.
Went with two mates and we paid £5.50 each so great pricing! Overall, I’d say it’s worth a visit, especially for the atmosphere and since it is a new shop I know they will be improving with time. My advice - just simmer the curry for abit longer to let...
