Let me begin by saying this rating in no way reflects the skill of the chef or the quality of food (which as others have stated is delicious). I visited for a joint dinner with my partner and Bestie (who is travelling to Japan in March) we were so excited to visit, everything started great we placed our orders (alcohol as well). The chef (Owners nephew) arrived started preparing, I suffer from a neurological condition which effects my digestive system, so I discreetly ( not wanting to disturb others on the table) half way through the meal, I took my medication. The chef suddenly walks of (aggressively) I can now see his clearly annoyed talking to our waitress (exaggerated hand gestures). The waitress then comes over and tbh politely informs me she’s been made aware I am drinking alcohol brought into the premise. I show her my medication, with my name and doctor’s prescription the bottle was a medical one and the lid a screw top medical white 5-10ml plastic cap. She then proceeded to ask why I hadn’t informed them ?! I was unaware that I needed too. Also it’s not comfortable discussing my health in a restaurant on a shared table, after the chef has stalked off in a hissy. He literally could have asked me and I would have been like “oh it’s medication” shown him the bottle. At this point it’s a scene I am self conscious and very aware of the chef staring at me, she apologised walked way. Chef then walked over and ignored me, did not apologise, so I sat for the next 15min in awkward embarrassment not touching my food. His attitude and behaviour ruined the night throughly, the lack of basic decency was disgusting. The staff clearly were aware of what was going on and made no move to acknowledge his behaviour. At the end of the meal, when asked if I could leave a review, I was told there was no person of management “review on google”. I understand for most people this might have been a simple situation, but his behaviour the storming off, everything was so intense. I will not be going back as I didn’t actually get to eat my food! The incident made it so my illness was laid bare in public. If you have an illness and have a trigger that may require medication when out and about tell them before hand or prepare for the worst !
