Update 23/7/2022
Despite my previous experience at this badly run place I drove through to pick up some food for the kids, 11.30am and the place is shut, no signs or anything, opening times were stated as 10.30am. Previously staff member said they were short staffed, so I imagine the manager at this place as well as the area manager are so incompetent that they can't manage their staff, food or cleanliness. Shut the place down and let a greasy kebab place open up and even they will run the site better.. disgraceful.
Last 4 visits they tell me no fried chicken when I get the drive thru window to order. First time I left site, second time same thing and I asked for the manager, staff member comes back and says he can do fried chicken after all. Same thing happened again following week and when I asked for the manager the staff member goes away and then comes back and tell me he can do chicken after all. Its like they don't want to serve normal customers after certain time and just concentrate on uber and deliverio. Latest visit was tehir card machines are not working and its cash only. Pathetic management and service at this drive thru.
Update 12/3/2022: went to this place again after a long time thinking there might be some improvement.. but no.. ordered box meal with piece of chicken and side order as corn on cob.. get to collection window and get told there is no corn on cob and that I can have extra fries. I said I already get fries with the meal and if I can have hot wing or wings instead, staff member goes to ask manager and manager refuses. Asked if I can have coleslaw instead and I get told no they don't have that either nor do they have beans. The place is pointless and by the sounds of it KFC franchisee doesn't care about customers either because this isn't something new. Poor management of this place has been going on for more than a few months. Manager sounds like he has no clue about managing stock or how to give good customer service. Will opt to go to the coop petrol station next time as this...
Read moreA Mixed Experience at KFC Mapperley, Nottingham
Two days ago, we placed an order at this KFC branch, mainly for my wife and child. We had to wait for over 30 minutes, which I understand is quite long. From my knowledge of KFC outlets, if the waiting time exceeds 30 minutes, they often provide some extra food, such as chips or additional chicken pieces, as a goodwill gesture.
In a light-hearted conversation, I shared this with my wife, who then mentioned it to the staff when enquiring about the delay. To our pleasant surprise, they did serve extra chips, which made us really happy.
However, today’s (01/02/2025)experience was quite disappointing. The same staff member provided table service for my two separate orders. On both occasions, she placed the trays down with unnecessary force and appeared visibly angry. I noticed this from the first instance but chose to overlook it. Unfortunately, she repeated the behaviour again, this time in front of my wife and child, which was quite upsetting.
KFC is a well-known international brand, and good service quality should be a priority. As customers, we are paying for our meals and expect to be treated with courtesy. Coming from India, where we have experienced excellent service at KFC outlets, we anticipated a similar or even better experience here. Sadly, this was not the case today.
That said, we will likely return to this outlet as it is convenient for us. However, I do hope that service quality improves in the future, as such incidents can impact customer satisfaction.

Read moreThe food always takes an age to arrive, but as a walk in customer it's kind of expected as they have to keep the Drive Thru clear. After ordering from the digital PoS terminal, I got my food 10 minutes later which is pretty good, but there was no supercharger sauce. Not a big deal, so I substituted it for a BBQ instead. I noticed that my sundae wasn't there, and when I enquired about it I was told "we don't have any" like it was MY fault for ordering.
The woman who served me was clearly sick of having to explain to people, and had all the enthusiasm and charisma of an undertaker. When I asked for a refund, she literally sighed at me and went to get a manager to refund me.
Three takeaways from this:
Yes, retail is tough at times, but there's no excuse for being rude to customers. I hope the lady that served me wins the lottery so she can retire and no longer has to inflict her dire customer service skills on others.
Management needs to sort out the PoS system - if anything is not available, mark it as such to save a lot of trouble for both your staff and customers.
Stock control needs an overhaul because as well as supercharger sauce and sundaes, the rice was also unavailable as I heard the lady behind the counter "apologising" for that too.
The food was decent, I'm just not sure it's worth the "is it...
