Orchid Cafe — Restaurant in Nottingham

A proper independent and honest oasis in Sherwood. I had wanted to visit for a while and was walking past on a particularly miserable day and it was a welcome, warm oasis for a healthy but satisfying brunch on my own with my book.

The small venue is a real selling point, as it's not as busy as the nearby similar cafes and has a real family run feel and it's a chance to settle into the calm environment for me. The food experience here beats others too.

The menu is actually quite extensive; a cut above your average cafe options with home made cakes and soup specials as well as the usual range of proper breakfasts with lots of extras. There's a lot on there - even tofu based things, and various sides and toppers...

I had an excellent egg on toast with tomatoes and it was the best I've had! Clearly prepared with care by Gary 👌🏼

Orchard is open until much later than many others, even Sundays. Great after a walk in Woodthorpe. I was able to sit for a little afterwards too and you're not rushed.

This is a gem in Sherwood and can recommend a visit! Varied food made with care by Gary and team, and a homely atmosphere. Just what I needed to lift me up today ☔

This was the first time visiting Orchid cafe after being recommended by a work friend. The BEST full English breakfast I have had in a very long time! Runny fried egg, thick and juicy bacon, beautiful toast, mushrooms, tasty sausage, the crispiest has brown I've ever had, and beans. YUM. All the sauces already on the table!

My partner had the poached eggs (which were cooked to perfection...the runniest yokes!) on honey seeded toast with VERY generous amounts of avocado and smoked salmon.

I had a nice and hot cappuccino, and my partner had the long black coffee, both lovely. Although we didn't try the cakes, they looked out of this world!!

The music had the right tone and atmosphere to the whole cafe, and the staff were welcoming and kind. The service was impeccable, nothing took too long, and nothing was rushed.

The whole place has an eclectic mix of decor that somehow works to make such a relaxed, cosy feel. Highly recommend, well definitely...

Found this after local hospital visit wanted a nice cooked breakfast and cup of tea. Tea was fine just shape they only had 2 little sachets of sugar in pot which is around 1 tea spoon worth.

Breakfast well i had high hopes with good reviews bacon dry and hard. Saussage okay. Was hoping for a nice runny egg for bread to dip well it was hard fried egg. No sauces on table had to wait. Had to wait for toast and bread to come.

Then comes in a lady with dog. Off putting then comes along 2 more prople with 2 dogs this put me off even more lucky enough they went as card machine was down. May be a sign on door saying dog friendly or in window would be nice so people then have a choice to go else where. As i certainly dont like sitting down to eat with dogs walking past.
