Service was a little on the slow side and when the meals arrived my wife's "combo" was not delivered. Having said that the mistake was rectified extremely quickly and when we got our meals they all lived up to expectations. The three of us all had a steak with a combo, my wife plumped for the 8oz sirloin (medium rare) with ribs, our son had the 8oz ribeye (medium rare) with wings and I also had the 8oz sirloin (rare) with Louisiana chicken strips. Everything was cooked to perfection, the green peppercorn sauce was really tasty and for the price paid I came away feeling extremely satisfied. I personally like the decor of the restaurant and the music that is played, whereas my wife feels that it is in need of a revamp because it has been exactly the same for the 15 years we have been in Nottingham. Overall an extremely enjoyable meal and even though I alluded that the service could have been better, I will also add that just 2 ladies were looking after the entire restaurant and were under a bit of pressure.

Really wasn't overly impressed with my experience at this restaurant unfortunately. Looking at other ratings I was quite looking forward to it so was let down. Firstly, had booked a table at 18:15, upon arriving we then had to wait for our table for 5 minutes, I know that's not a particularly long time but you don't expect to have to wait for a table that you have already booked for a specific time. It then took a long time for the waiters to come over and take our orders, the food took quite a while to come also in a place that wasn't overly busy for a Saturday. The food itself I wasn't impressed with, had cajun chicken breast with spicy rice and mash. The chicken was cooked well but wasn't much too much flavour to it and the rice had no real flavour and was quite wet also. The mash I must say though was superb. Overall a very average experience and the food matched it.

Had lunch with my hubby, delicious steak, best one we have had in a long time. Perfectly cooked, juicy sirloin and rib eye, charcoal grill flavour, fresh sides and sauces, chips were not greasy at all, only the onion ring was a bit drenched in oil. Desserts were nice too, although the only item I did not find awesome was the lemon meringue pie (have had better ones). The Alabama chocolate cake was amazing. Even the drinks were nicely prepared. I had a soda and cordial, well balanced, not to sweet, just right. The service was kind, professional, corteous and patient. The music on the background was highly enjoyable and in correlation with the Soul Motown theme of the restaurant and at a volume that let you carry on a conversation. Overall I would give this place a 5 * rev :)

I've been here before, and it was good! Nice food, friendly staff, a real sense of style, thumbs up. So when a friend brought up a bunch of us going together, sounded good to me; I made a booking. The confirmation came through; we were going to be seated upstairs, as an event was going on downstairs.

If you book, and the email says this, cancel immediately.

We show up on the day ahead of our friends and, walking round the people smoking directly outside the entrance, find that we've somehow wound up in a disco at a local pub. There's a DJ down there playing ear-splittingly loud music for what is, let's be clear, a pretty small room. Like, it's not that there's music, and it's not that the music is loud. It is that the music is TOO loud, by far. It is all encompassing and far reaching. And, actually, no, I take that back, do your thing people, have your party and blow out your eardrums if you want. It is that this is happening in a steak restaurant.

So we get seated and, no, being up a flight of stairs does nothing to quell the noise. For me, conversation is almost impossible. For my partner, who has long-standing problems with her ears, this situation is painful.

The service here is excellent, so we're asked to order drinks before we can really take stock of how untenable this situation is. We sit, trying some combination of shouting and typing to each other on our phones to communicate, warning our friends about the noise that awaits them and sipping away at a pint of soft drink each, trying to figure out what to do. We ask how long the event is going on for; another 2 and a half hours.

At this point, we're trying to figure out if we can put up with this for the whole meal, and quickly decide that, no, we definitely can't. We ask for our bill for the drinks (£7.50, a price in keeping with the stylish steak place we thought we were eating at), meet our friend outside, and go elsewhere.

So, look; if you go in on a normal day, I'm sure this is lovely; given how many people had managed to push through the noise to actually eat their meals, the food is presumably excellent. But I'm reviewing our experience on the day, and it was horrid. It gets two stars because, look, the staff were lovely, no shade to anyone working there, it's just the absurd mismanagement to try and run a super-loud pub-style party and a stylish reasonably-pricy steak restaurant in the same place at...

Sadly not a rave review, attended saturday night, party of 4. As we entered there was a medical emergency taking place, which understandably is out of the establishments control and we were informed and warned that food maybe delayed which we totally understood. When we did order and receive our food two of the starters were inedible, they were totally dried out and over cooked, it was like trying to eat shoe leather, we told the waitress and we requested we were not charged for them, which we weren't. The 3 steaks ordered were over cooked as well, one asked for medium rare and it was medium at best, reality well done, but was edible one lamb shank which appeared to have been cooking all day, was dry and tasteless and could not be eaten. At no point did anyone ask if everything was to our satisfaction, bearing in mind the issue with two of our starters. When the plates were eventually collected, again seeing as one dish was only half eaten, again no one asked us if everything was ok. Staff although very pleasant and friendly seem to be winding down for the night as all congregating in the kitchen and the music turned off, this was 9pm! Such a shame as we were looking forward to eating here, but will not return. Although every establishment can have an off night, this very much felt that there was no care on dinners satisfaction or enjoyment. I did voice this to the manager but was just told oh it's not usually like this please come back, but quite frankly would not like to risk it, was expensive for...

Me and 2 friends walked in on our lunch break, a man called Michael (brunette male, wearing a blue shirt with stripe down the middle) seated us with appalling attitude. We asked roughly how long our meal would take to be made and he told us "as long as it takes if you want to eat fast you should of gone elsewhere". I asked if we could order food and drinks at the same time and he told us no, we will have to wait for him to come back and huffed and puffed while walking away. He began slamming cupboards and draws like hulk, 2 meals came out miles before the other one, it took over 10 minutes after our food came out to get any sauces and hardly any provided, only enough for 2 chips. The beef burger was extremely dry looked like it had been like it had been left in the sahra desert!! we ordered dessert and was unable to finish it so asked to take it in a takeout box. Michael told us this was fine but then brought all the desserts out in tin foil, cold and no custard and came out in the package it should have been microwaved in. We asked if we could split the bill and they said no. I went over to Michael to complain and he begin touching the dessert i was planning on eating after i left. He was rude and gave us dirty looks throughout my conversation with him. I left my dessert there after Michael had touched all over the cake! 1 star for the chips....
