So I've been here twice now, first time was absolutely spot on! Had no idea what they offered, how to order or anything. The lady greeted me, asked me if I had been before (obviously I hadn't this time round) and she walked me through everything. Asked me what I like, don't like. General stuff like that and came up with a spot on order for me! Service was impeccable, you could really tell she was someone who took pride in their job and also the food was spot on as well! Usually I'm one to stick to what I know but this meal was recommended by the lady serving me and she did a pretty spot on job.
This review would have been a full 5 star if it wasn't for my last visit a few days ago. I took my partner for one of the finest burritos I've had in a long time and we did end up getting a burrito but unfortunately both preparation and customer service wasn't at best this time around. We were served by a young lady who definitely seemed like she didn't want to be working, very monotone when speaking to us (fair enough, I've worked in customer facing roles on Sundays too), she didn't seem to know what she was doing as she was about to put on white rice instead of brown, didn't offer any extras or sauces on my partners meal before wrapping it up. I had to ask for sauce on mine in the knick of time before she wrapped it. Made a point of saying my partner wanted sauce and she didn't offer it to which she stared blankly at me and said "its done now". She also forgot our side of fries and dipping sauces.
Overall a bit of a contrast in the two experiences with customer service but the food was great both visits none the less!
I was recommended to go by a good friend and was not disappointed in the food, I would definitely recommend to a friend but maybe not to...
Read moreMade a lunch stop in Nottingham on a long journey to Norfolk and discovered Barburrito just a couple of minutes walk from the Old Market Square. It's in a grand old building, clean and spacious inside with a choice of seating including bar stools by the window. Loved the colourful murals, the exotic plants and laid-back ambience. There's a good variety of food to take out or eat in. I'm not familiar with Mexican food but the lady behind the counter was both friendly and helpful, going through all the options with me. I chose a classic burrito loaded with brown rice, vegetables, chicken, sauces, spinach, grated cheese and guacamole. Quite messy to eat with fingers, but you can have a knife and fork if you wish. The burrito was more warm than hot but it was delicious, great mix of flavours, spicy and very filling. They do not serve hot drinks, but they do sell bottles of ice tea. Had the peach flavour, a very cool and refreshing drink to accompany spicy Mexican food. It was just over £10 for the meal and drink, which I considered very reasonable. Card payment only. Enjoyed my first burrito and would come back to try more...

Last night my boyfriend ordered burritos for us as a treat however I found real chicken in my supposedly vegan burrito.
As I ordered a vegan burrito I am really disappointed and actually feel sick knowing that there was such lack of care towards dietary requirements. On top of the issue of the chicken being there in the first place there was not clear enough labelling which further implies that there is a general lack of understanding or care at this restaurant.
I have attached a picture of the chicken skin which alerted me to the fact that this had happened and we tried calling the restaurant multiple times with no answer.
If I could give a lower rating I would, especially since this has happened to others (as the reviews show) and could cause serious harm for allergy sufferers.
Furthermore as a prior line chef I know what procedures should have been in place to prevent this and the fact that it has happened more than once speaks volumes about the management of the kitchen.
Be very careful about ordering from here as they clearly are not bothered about cross...
