I took my family here for my husbands birthday we arrived and the waiter came over to take our drink order then a second waiter arrived to take our food order he was being very rude concerning my autistic sons bald head saying oh my god the sun is bouncing off it I am blinded ( how rude) he then did this again later he also made a sarcastic comment on my grandsons lack of travel …haven’t you ever been on a lads holiday !!! Havent you ever been to Greece !!.. I was biting my tongue not happy with comments like that to your paying customers. Starters arrived very quickly closely followed by our main without clearing starter plates first so then we had to wait for cutlery …not one staff member asked if our food was satisfactory which it wasn’t it tasted like frozen thrown in the fryer food …main course was definitely lacking …mixed grill was tough as old boots chips just as bad … we didn’t bother complaining as it was very apparent the staff wouldn’t have cared a fig !!..overall the staff need some serious re training you do not make personal comments about customers I would sack my staff for this .. I own a restaurant and my staff would not dream of doing this nor would we serve over cooked food nor would we ever not do a table check overall rubbish I will never return and you seriously should think twice before you try this restaurant rude staff...

A Greek Gastronomic Delight!I recently dined at this charming Greek restaurant, and the experience left me utterly delighted. From the moment I stepped in, the ambiance was inviting, and the staff exuded warmth and hospitality.Let's start with the star of the show - the food. Every dish was a symphony of flavors, bursting with freshness and authenticity. The portion sizes were incredibly generous, ensuring that no diner left hungry. What's more, the option to take home leftovers was a thoughtful touch, allowing us to savor the delectable flavors all over again. The staff's attentiveness was commendable, as they catered to our every need with a smile. Despite the bustling atmosphere, there was no pressure to purchase additional drinks or desserts, allowing us to enjoy our meal at our own pace. One aspect that truly stood out was the absence of a service charge, a rarity in many dining establishments. This gesture exemplifies the restaurant's commitment to providing top-notch service without hidden fees.In conclusion, if you're craving authentic Greek cuisine served with a side of exceptional hospitality, this restaurant is an absolute must-visit. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone seeking a memorable dining experience. Bravo to the team for setting the bar high in both service and...

Acropolis in Headington is one of our go to places to eat out in Oxford. We have been many times and have enjoyed it every time. The food is excellent, well presented, cooked to perfection and with a wide variety of flavours. We often order a number of starters (as we do particularly like the choice Acropolis offers) and then share a main. This works really well for us, and we always leave feeling satisfied, if not a little on the full side! The staff have always been brilliant, they are friendly, approachable and attentive. In todays visit we ended up talking to one of the staff who recognised us from previous visit, we talked about food and holidays among other things. The restaurant is warm, inviting, and decorated with Greek photos, statues, and a rather impressive fish tank under the bar. In the summer the front is completely opened up to allow in summer air and provide some tables on the street side. Thank you for todays meal, we look forward to the next one! In particular, thank you for the saganaki which isn’t current on the menu, but we mentioned in passing (to enquire if it would come back on the menu at some point) and behold, a few moments later it arrived on our table. We felt both a little cheeky and well looked after at the same...

Stopping in headington for lunch, as always Greek food is high on my list to try so we stopped here at acropolis for quick bite. Ordered off a lunch menu which had a good selection of starters and mains to choose from, Ā£5 for any starter on the list and Ā£10 for any main also on the list. Went for a chicken souvlaki with rice. Portion size was ok not huge or small, the chicken had a nice char flavour with decent seasoning throughout, juicy chicken succulent and holding the flavour especially when squeezing fresh lemon over it. Came with a portion of rice with peas and carrots mixed in, pretty much what you expect, maybe reheated? It wasent bad but it was bland and standard. Had a garlic sauce on the side which was very nice creamy and garlicy! I would say for Ā£10 I would liked maybe a side salad aswell as rice, or some bread too. Dish felt like it was missing somthing, maybe it was that. Overall I would rate it 7.5/10 - potentially like to try their evening menu and get a full vibe from the spot, as I’m sure it has some hidden gems on the menu!

came to celebrate my boyfriends birthday meal here recently and would rate our overall experience a 3. food was very plain and both mains felt as though they were missing something? it’s as though the meat had been just grilled with no seasoning or any kind of marinate which the menu had promised. salads looked as though they had been out of a pre mix salad bag and not the traditional greek salad we had been expecting from a ā€œgreekā€ restaurant. halloumi was yummy but not for nearly Ā£8. also worth mentioning their soft drinks are not branded coke or diet coke and felt a bit ripped off paying Ā£3.50 for some own brand flat syrupy sugary cola. we waited 20mins for our plates to be cleared and a further 20mins to pay the bill. we were going to stay for dessert but decided to go elsewhere.

Being from Greece, you wouldn't find many quality Greek restaurant like this one. Since its very difficult for me to go back home, I come here regularly as the food is extraordinarily delicious. Its authentic and full of flavours that takes me back to Greece. Range of amazing drinks and deserts priced reasonably that went with my food. The atmosphere is a WOW. The moment you walk into the restaurant you feel like your in Greece, with amazing pictures on the wall, a very large fish tank with beautiful fishes, amazing dƩcor and setting. My favourite is the mini museum with Greek statutes. I recommend this restaurant to anyone, its a shame some people are negative about the food, which shows there lack of experience of the food and culture.
