Most of the staff were lovely but there was one maybe a manager who was lacking the service spirit. The shop is always really busy and some people come to work which is ok but felt some people were hogging a lot of chairs when some people wanted to socialise. It will be good to have one side of the cafe for workers and other for people to be able to socialise. The counter seats felt a bit odd but the breakfast was good. Having some low sugar hot drink options (matcha latte, tea latte) could even make it better.

First time at Gail's in Oxford (Jerico). Good coffee and cake. The sea salt caramel banana pecan cake. Tastes lovely but think it needed more moisture/gooeyness. How about putting a gooey centre in it. Had in late afternoon so perhaps a little dry. The cake title certainly sounded pure heaven. Gails was busy. Naturally quite a few students here drinking coffee and using laptops. There is some outdoor seating. Great place to watch the student world go by. Great service

Their pastries are nice and buttery, but the prices are considerable! My biggest grievance though is that Gail's pain au chocolats only have one bar of chocolate - and this is not a random mistake, because I bought one a few months ago too and it also only had one bar (see other photo). What gives? Also, I think my pain au chocolat today was a little undercooked, it was pretty flat and the bottom was doughy. Sadly, I'll be looking for a new place for my pastries.

Nice food but service always poor. Love Gail’s but this branch isn’t a good example. Have been here numerous times and each time have been waiting around ten minutes for a coffee. When it arrives, the coffee is always good and all the bread and cakes are fantastic, just a shame the service takes so long. Then you coffee gets plonked down in front of you without any smile or eye contact.

Hard to get a seat during peak times. Takeaway customers get faster service, if you sit in you’ll be frustrated watching 6 members of staff behind the counter (one making coffee, 2 taking orders, 2 flapping about and one checking her phone). Overheard chef complain that the service staff left a customer’s food on the pass for 20 mins.

If it wasn’t for their great breads I’d rather to go Taylor’s on the corner instead and get faster service with a smile. Gail’s Food=Great. Coffee=Great....

Wonderful Bakery Experience at GAIL’s in Oxford Jericho!

We recently visited GAIL’s in Oxford Jericho and had an absolutely delightful experience. The cozy, welcoming atmosphere immediately set the tone for a perfect afternoon treat. We ordered coffee, cinnamon buns, and croissants, and everything was simply delicious!

The coffee was rich and smooth, complementing the freshly baked pastries beautifully. The cinnamon buns were soft, perfectly spiced, and not overly sweet, while the croissants were wonderfully flaky and buttery – just what you’d expect from a top-quality bakery.

The staff were friendly and attentive, making the whole experience even better. Whether you’re looking for a quick snack, a relaxing coffee, or a place to enjoy some quality baked goods, GAIL’s in Jericho is a must-visit. We’ll definitely be back!

Highly...

Dreadful customer care. Visited on Sunday 6th around 5ish. Stood in a queue to buy a vegan brioche. People in front of me ordered numerous cakes so waited patiently. Then two other customers buying bread pushed in front of me and were served out of turn by very surly guy. After serving these customers he ignored me for a couple of minutes, then just as I was about to order the brioche he literally snatched them away from the counter saying I couldn't purchase them that they had timed out. He was abrupt and rude, he even mentioned that he'd taken some home and eaten them the next day and they were fine, which kind of disproved the whole point. I suspect he also took these ones home Appalling service, overpriced and...
