Visited with a friend for breakfast on the 14th of June. Really lovely looking place - decor inside is fresh and inviting with delicious looking cakes, treats and wraps in the window. We chose to sit out on the front as it was a particularly warm and sunny morning. We ordered our drinks and food easily with the friendly lady at the till. I will be honest and say there was an issue - we waited for quite a while for our drinks and it became apparent that perhaps we had been forgotten about when a person who had ordered after us had received their food before we had our drinks. Now, I'm not bringing this up as a negative, but rather to highlight how this was dealt with. We didn't mention to anybody that we were still waiting for drinks, but it was clear it had been noticed by the baristas. Anyway, not long later our drinks were brought out with many apologies before we were informed (by perhaps the manager, though I'm not certain) that there was some error and our order was momentarily lost and we were reassured our food was coming as quickly as possible. We weren't in a rush, so it really didn't matter to us and it was a genuine mistake - we're all human and it happens! We were offered free cakes/treats as an apology, though neither of us are hugely sweet toothed so we politely declined. Our breakfasts arrived shortly after and were beautifully presented and delicious. Sometimes it just really doesn't matter if something goes wrong, just that it's handled well (on both sides). Thank you!

EDIT: My friend and I went to Opera today. We went to get some iced coffees, but unfortunately we had the worst time. There was a person behind the till with short glasses and glasses, who was clearly quite stressed out by the queue. My friend and I were patient, and waited about 5 minutes before being served - this person was just rude, and also got our orders wrong. My friend ordered a biscoff iced latte but the coffee was overwhelming with hardly any of the biscoff flavour, and I ordered an iced Americano with vanilla and the vanilla was missing. The line was also out of the door so it would’ve meant another 15 minute wait to just have the ordered fixed. I’m so disappointed with this place, ever since new staff have joined, there’s been issues. EDIT: The cinnamon rolls are stunning! They have plain, chocolate or pistachio. Because they’re so popular, it’s hard to get your hands on one. The only issue I have is that the buns can sometimes be a bit burnt - but if you like a tiny bit of a bitter taste with sweet, this would be perfect as it’s the glaze they use gets burnt. I’m yet to get one that hot and fresh (since I always get one after class) but so far, each time I’ve come to this cafe to get one I’ve left happy! I have tried the carrot cake but it’s was too dry for me, but the cream cheese and walnut icing was brilliant. The staff are honestly wonderful too. They also do a student discount šŸ˜šŸ¤

There are lots of cafes on the high street, Oxford, regardless of chain stores or independent ones. However, this time I discovered a hidden gem, which is 10-mins walk from the bustling city centre, but with a classy name and colourful decor. Moreover, it is based on the style of Mediterranean and Moroccan cuisine. Coffee Shops For Digital Nomads Oxford Stop: Opera Cafe Category: Independent Cafe WIFI: Reliable to use but need a code Download 2.23Mbps Upload 1.08Mbps PING 20 JITTER 45 Seating: They have a main dining room, a basement and an indoor backyard. With wood tables, chairs, sofas and settees, it could accommodate around 45-50 seats. And They also provide outdoor seats. Charging Spots: Cannot find it, unfortunately. Bathroom: One for Unisex Ambience: The cheerful colourful decor and the peaceful surroundings make the cafe a kind of tranquility and comfy. In particular, enjoy the sunshine by sitting outdoor. Staff Friendliness: Very lovely and welcoming staff Cost: Coffee £1.75-£2.95 Tea £2.25-£4.00 Hot Chocolate £3.95 Milkshakes £2.45-£3.45 Fresh Juice £3.75-£3.95 Food £4.95-£7.95 Something Special About the Cafe: They provide healthy golden latte and red velvet latte, as well as a strong Middle-Eastern flavour food, patisserie and oriental sweets. The street-front deck is a highlight with fresh vegetables and fruits. Problems: No power sockets are available for laptop.
