La Smorfia Oxford — Restaurant in Oxford

Unnecessarily long waiting time for my breakfast to arrive for an almost empty venue.

I was then served under cooked eggs, 2 tiny button mushrooms that smelt like they had been stored in bleach and very cheap quality sausage together with cold beans. I would expect much better for the price.

However the staff appeared friendly although somewhat overwhelmed with difficulty using the debit card machine.

There's been a huge improvement since my first visit. The food was was hot, no lengthy waiting time and the service was very good.

I had the Margherita Pizza with Vegan cheese which was very good although extremely thin it was complete with a deep crust! I had that with a side order of fries. I would have preferred to add my own salt rather than it come already salted.

I Ordered a large Latte which came in a very standard size cup for £2.80, however it was an additional 30p for Oat milk and a further 30p for Decaff. Assuming £3.40 is a fair price for a coffee these days, I would have preferred a larger cup.

All that said it's another lovely place on the Cowley Road to meet and eat throughout the day and enjoy the lovely rear garden weather permitting.

Recommendations on high level of knowledge what to suggest as well! Big portions, starters delicious and with proper Italian size 💕! Starters + mains it’s risky combination - there’s big chance you’ll not manage to eat all ;) Great selection of mains in menu. I was impressed by the original combinations of tastes and ingredients. We were at the Nuffield hospital and we decided to have dinner before heading back to Kent so we chose the restaurant according to the reviews on google and trip adviser. The restaurant is on main road and you can park your car opposite to it for 2hrs with now return. The restaurant is not the best at the first glance but clean and tidy, it was hot day so we chose to sit in the garden which was refreshing and nicely done, we had the cheese platter as a starter which was nice. I had pasta and my other half had sirloin steak. The food was done to perfection very nice and lots of flavour into it. We ordered a bottle of Italian wine was ok for a £28. Then we ordered desert I had tiramisu and My other half had profiterole with white chocolate, both came in a plastic cups they tasted nothing like dessert very disappointing really.
