On the 19th December we ordered a meal online and got our order number. When we arrived to collect the meal, my partner went in to collect it while I waited in the car due to the lack of parking at Nandos Cowley. She provided them with the Order Number and Name on the order, and the staff member confirmed and brought it to the collection point only to refuse to hand it over to my partner stating he needed to see the email confirmation first. She reiterated the Name on the Order and the Order Number which are unique to any order, and advised him we didn't have the email at hand, but he refused to hand the food over.
As the order was in my name, she walked out of Nandos empty handed and asked me to go in to speak to them. I explained the same thing to him and he went over the same lines stating he can't hand the food over until he saw an email. He went on to explain that Nandos have been hacked and people are claiming other peoples foods so he needed to see an email.
How is that our problem if Nandos is hacked? (Worried about our banking details), and if it was a customers email that is being hacked, how is it Nandos problem to start policing hacked emails! if we provided them with TWO unique identifiers that match an order. Nandos have cameras inside, so if there was an issue the hackers would be caught on camera. Besides how much chicken can anyone eat to hacker Nando’s only to collect chicken thighs!!
After going back and forth for 5mins, I had to show him my driving licence which in reality was pointless as the name on my Nando’s account does not always match my legal name. The gave us our order after looking at my licence.
We have had minor issue with orders before but never with like this. This is the first we have been humiliated and looked at as though we are thieves on an order we had paid for and provide two unique identifiers.
We have always decided to order from Cowley even though we have two very close branches, but today will be the last. It was only last week that a family friend mentioned their dislike of the Cowley branch and defended the branch, but now it's clear to see their point.
They have lost a customer in us. As they say they have been Hacked! we would be changing our bank details. Advice all readers to...
Read moreOn Sunday evening (14th November 2021) I was dropping my son in Oxford. My son felt like some Nando’s and as this Nando’s does halal chicken we decided to pop in here.
When we arrived we asked for a table for 3 (my daughter had come along for the ride). We were told the wait was 15 mins, which was fine. The staff member said to scan a QR code to wait in a queue (which was non existent as we were the only ones waiting) as I scanned the code the manager walked up to the staff member and quietly told him that the wait is now 30 mins. He relayed the message to me. As we had to drive back 60 miles and it was already around 8:30pm, we asked if we could get a takeaway instead.
As we ordered our takeaways we found almost every item we wanted was ‘unavailable’, but we did manage to find a few items.
As we ordered another couple entered the restaurant and asked if they could be seated to the same member of staff. They were immediately seated. It was clear that these people did not have any booking and were not on the wait list. It hadn’t even been 6 mins since we had entered the restaurant.
I asked the staff member how is it that those people had been seated immediately when you said our wait was 30 mins? He said, it wasn’t his fault, his manager told him and he was just relaying the message. I then asked, ‘if the manager was wrong and a table had become available whilst I was still ordering in the takeaway, and you knew I wanted to eat in, why didn’t you tap me on the shoulder and ask if I would still like a table? That would be courteous!’ His response was ‘it’s not my fault you should have put your name on the waiting list, you can speak to my manager, she’s the one that got it wrong’.
At this point I had become very irritated. But I kept as calm as I could and as my son and daughter were with me and hungry, I waited for our takeaway to be ready. Personally if I wasn’t with my kids I would have cancelled my order and gone elsewhere.
Now to the food. The takeaway was awful. I’ve added a pic of the grilled chicken in pita that I had. It was as dry as a desert. I’ve obviously been to many Nando’s before, but the food at this restaurant was not...
Read moreIf it wasn't for the food, I would be giving a 1 star. The food was really good but the service was absolutely terrible.
Me and my family went to Nandos for my mum's birthday to have a meal together. We sat down at our table, never got our menus. It was quite busy, so we understood service would be slow, so even though we were hungry, we were patient. We waited 15 minutes before we realised no one gave a damn about table service, so I had to go up and get it. It was like as soon as we sat down, we were forgotten about. No one came to our table except to bring our food. We got our meal but we never got glasses. Since our table was literally being neglected, I also had to get up and go get that. I stood by the till for a stupid amount of time, waiting to ask a member of staff for cups only to be ignored by said staff. Waiters walked past me multiple times, yet not one cared to come up to me. The experience was honestly humiliating. After a while, I finally managed to approach a waiter to ask for a glass we should've been given from the start.
I'm so disappointed, I wouldn't come here again, and I wouldn't recommend anyone else to as it really...
