I don't know where to start to make this review clear and detailed.
I heard about this place sometime ago and I was wondering is good pick or not. Finally took the risk and I would say it's a lot to improve.
Offcourse I fully understand it's so budget food and it can be alarming they may sell a lot or buy ready food and just reheat it.
Dumplings where definetly not home made (£11.00 - in Sainsbury's packet costs £1.65). I spotted old lady who walked out from the kitchen with full square bucket of dumplings and it was my main character concern they sell more ready food like that. Be honest I'm kind of lazy and I just making dumplings at home for Christmas time.
Soup was fine but not the best. My region make it bit different - more spicy and with white vinegar. Sausage and egg where cold.
Cabbage was similar story. I like more tomato sauce and this kind of sweet/sour taste.
I can fully understand there is some balance between price and quality. And food is plain as maybe someone will don't like this or that but if you wanna call it Polish Cousin you should have optional thing in menu for example Classic dish or plain dish. So person who may don't know Polish food can experience some food then decide he really want something more traditional or not.
I think I'll try it again but I don't know about sharing the experience with anyone who I know. Business like that should be more transparent. Pretty waiter and lovely look of the restaurant is pros. But transparency, prices, food taste is questioning cons.
Otherwise I can just tell I even can do those dishes better but definetly not for same money.
I wish to know more opinions of more frequent visitors or maybe the...
Read moreI am not ashamed to recommend this place to English people or other nationalities who would love to try our delicious Polish food. This restaurant benefits from home made meals with a wide variety of different tastes from sweet to sour. We have visited here with family of four and have walked out really happy and stuffed! Nice, big portions, food tastes very authentic and reminds the feeling of being home, in Poland! All of us had different meals and everything was just perfect. I really recommend breaded pork escalope, pickle soup, pancakes or golabki. The last one is my favourite ever meal (mince meat with rice wrapped in cabbage leaves) and I must say it was just as I make it and how I love it. The staff is very friendly and do not pester you whilst you have your meal, just let you enjoy it! I am so glad we've found this place and will definately visit again. Thanks to all the staff for making us feel so welcome and keep up the good food! We can't wait to return here.
Family from Gloucester
Bardzo goraco polecam wszystkim tym, ktorzy tu jeszcze nie jedli. Miejsce jest bardzo klimatyczne, Polskie. Mozna sie tu poczuc jak w domu. Jedzenie jest naprawde przepyszne. Przyjechalismy z dwojka dzieci, najedlismy sie do pelna, zaspokoilismy swoje kubki smakowe i wyjechalismy szczesliwi.
Read morePolish Kitchen Oxford offers a delightful taste of Poland right here in Oxford, with its authentic and comforting dishes that evoke memories of cosy family gatherings.
I recently had the pleasure of enjoying a bowl of traditional Polish rosół, the chicken consommé with noodles, at Polish Kitchen Oxford. Each spoonful of this hearty soup brought warmth and depth of flavours that reminded me of home. It's a true comfort food experience that transports you to Poland with its rich taste and aroma.
Another highlight of my visit was indulging in one of my favourite Polish dishes, the Placek po Zbojnicku, at Polish Kitchen. This potato rosti, generously topped with grated cheese and served with a mix of salads, was a true delight. The portion was so generous that I couldn't finish it all! What sets this dish apart is the use of beef, which adds a distinctive flavour and texture compared to similar dishes made with pork. For me, beef always takes the lead, and Polish Kitchen's rendition of this classic dish did not disappoint.
Overall, Polish Kitchen Oxford is a must-visit for anyone craving authentic Polish...
