This was one of the best kept parks in Oxford. But since the past 13 years or so. No flowers are planted. 98% Playing Apparatus has been removed.
The Teenagers have very little facilities to go to or play on. As OCC is a money making scheme. Children are not able to handle a lot of the stress in schools/home life so a good community park would have been a great place.
We don't need any flags. Symbols. Badges. Just good old fashioned traditional Park equipment. Where children can create happy memories with their biological parents/carers Friends.
Also the Park in George more close has turned into an ugly place that's built for no one in particular.
(Who actually designed these parks with all the wood? Was it meant to mean something.?
Last thing I hope parents have a bit more patience with other people's children. So many entitled parents lack basic manners. I think I will make a scene the next time I see it. So others can take notes on how to tackle rude people...
Read moreGreat well kept park, some may say culturally enriched. Cafe of course over priced. Not greard up for the single parent if you wanted to dine and treat the kids. The trapeze experience that was or still is in the park wow now that is the ultimate snobbery encounter. Your face has to fit to feel welcome. The usual well behaved kids, the parents that trash the park and play area along with the typical ferrel children that have a tendancy to pick up and take other children's items with out asking. Dare not say anything as this would be an option one might be arrested for. Some parents there simply do not engage with the children and you may have to watch play equipment been hogged for hours while little timmy just waits paitently. Some people simply have not had our opportunities. Well what can we...
Read moreI live close to the park and walk there every day with my dog. It's a lovely park, but it has seen a decline in recent times. Not too long ago the flower beds were beautifully done and well kept. This is no longer the case and volunteers do their best to maintain them. It also suffers from people dropping litter all over the place. Again volunteers do their best to alleviate the problem. But the council should be doing more. I am aware that councils are being squeezed by central government and that nearly every service is contracted out to private companies. But I can't believe a council like Oxford's can't afford the upkeep of a lovely park like ours. What about a park warden? What about more benches? The upkeep of the flower beds? Not too much...
