We visited The Marsh Harrier last Sunday for lunch as a party of 8 to celebrate a birthday. Having booked a week ahead, I had encouraged everyone to have a look at the menu online in advance - there would be 3 vegetarians and one vegan attending, we were confident that we'd all be more than adequately catered for given the varied and inclusive menu. Some of the party were looking forward to the sea bass and our vegan was delighted to see that there were multiple options available for him. Sadly, when we came to order we were informed that we would only be able to have the roast! I don't know if this is standard for Sunday or if it was a one-off, but I was not informed about the limited menu when I booked or at any time between then and the meal itself. What I do know is that 'Sunday roasts only' is not mentioned anywhere on the website or menu & when we were seated, we were given the full menu to choose from. We were very disappointed. Fortunately, the meat-eaters were content to settle for the roast and the veggies & vegan were catered for with a decent stuffed aubergine and a vegan burger. The meals were good despite the limited choice, but the selection available was poor.
