We didn't book but the restaurant wasn't busy, only needed a table for 2 but seemed like we was asking for the world. Once sat down we was given the menus, the interior of the restaurant resembles a cafe/canteen and was extremely warm and uncomfortable. I was driving so wasn't drinking but the staff kept on asking me if I wanted a drink and was surprised/shocked when I said no. We both choose a pizza each without having a starter which again shocked the waitress (your not having starters in a rude manner). The pizza itself took a while to arrive but this wasn't a problem (well other than the heat), the presentation of the pizza was nice along with the base but everything else was bland and in my opinion not worth the price. Oil for the pizza would have been nice but we was not offered this nor was it on the table. We was then asked if we wanted a dessert and when we said no was greeted with "no dessert" in the same rude manner. We had to ask for the bill twice before it was brought, at this point we was dripping with sweat and ready to leave as quickly as we could to get some air. In summary if you want average quality of food at a higher price and poor rude service then try out this place if not then I'd go somewhere else, Witherspoon's is pretty much next door with a higher rating.

We were a family of 10 who hadn't made any Sunday night dinner plans, so thanks to Del Mar for helping us out! We were told that they would be too busy for 7:30pm, but when we arrived at 8, it was relatively quiet. Anyway, when we did arrive we were given a warm welcome. We were sat in the conservatory sort of part of the restaurant which wasn't quite as warm as the rest of the restaurant, but didn't really have much of an impact in our evening. Anyway anyway, this is where the good news starts! The food from start to finish was incredible. Well beyond my expectations. I mean to give you some idea, we had prawn starters and the kids shared some cheesy garlic bread. We have eaten a lot of places, but these are literally THE best prawns we have ever had. In the mains we had a mixture of seafood linguine, sea bass, chicken parmesan and pizza. All of the food went down like an absolute storm! Everything washed down with a bottle of Pecorino and a few pints of Poretti. It has to be said that we really had average expectations on our evening and it really turned out to be such a great night and couldn't compliment the food any more. We certainly would come back, just because I want more of those prawns!!

Astoundingly rude staff, bland food and an oppressive atmosphere put our last evening in perranporth as the worst. After being pestered to decide on our entire meal within 2 minutes of entering the establishment by 3 different waiters, all within seconds of each other, We ordered a garlic pizzabread and calamari for starters followed by tagliatelle pollo e funghi and spinach and ricotta ravioli with white wine and cheese sauce. The garlic pizza bread was more akin to cardboard walked through a room that someone had once in history grated some garlic in. The calamari was blatently store brought and frozen for a number of decades; soggy, tasteless and uninspiring. This quite set the trend for the rest of the meal as our mains also suffered with tastelessness and dry rubber texture, also the fact that there were only 6 ravioli given for a main is frankly insulting. Needless to say we didn't stay for desert and once our bill was paid any small pretence of nicety from our waitress was dropped. Words of advice: 1. If you ask for parmesan cheese, prepare for measurements in kilogrammes; see photo attached. 2. Avoid.

Poor service . I would not go again. Called at 9.30pm to reserved a table for 10 people for 10pm. It was a 45 mins drive for us and we Was asked to pay £50 deposit over the phone as they close at 11pm which we happily did as we wanted a sit down dinner. I phoned 15 mins in advance to pre-order before arrival over the phone and all sudden asked by the lady to get takeaway and then had to explain we paid deposit and booked a table just to get a sit down dinner in advance. Then she said ok because we would get “drinks and starters” most likely. Once we entered we asked for the menu and the older Italian gentleman asked rudely “ what you need a menu for you’ve already ordered” we explained we just want some drinks. We would have also got starters but they lost out on that . We were met with an uncomfortable atmosphere as if we were not wanted eventhough they expected us an hour earlier. He also questioned me on “ you said 10 people where are they” I responded “1 can’t come and 1 is outside” and then he asked “ what’s the young child going to eat u didn’t order for him” I explained again that we will just share its as if I had to order for every person for it to be ok to eat in. Maybe he was just asking as it was getting late. I was really confused . We had to ask for chilli oil and just no conversation was made . Just met with silence . And when we got there that’s when they started making the food which meant we had to wait longer and we had 15 mins to eat before closing when we got the food so everyone was hurrying up. Our waiter Harry was an absolute charm sadly he left within mins just as he took our drinks order and we did ask as we entered if it’s too late we can just takeaway the pizza because we felt that unwanted and we were told there is more than enough time . The pizzas were okay but very rushed as one came out oval shaped and had so many toppings compared to the other pizzas. We happily paid service charge as well for taking a big group quite late in the evening. However we did not check the receipt . Our bill was around £150 and we just paid . But TO TOP IT OFF , I checked the receipt after and each pizza was charged at least 2 extra toppings that we did not order. It’s around £10 extra but I find it just super sly as we wouldn’t have noticed of course . service was terrible . We should’ve believed the other reviews on the...

I called the restaurant last week to book myself, husband and son a table whilst we were on holiday, I have booked for two evenings, tonight and Thursday, both at 6pm.

On arrival this evening we were given a wonderfully warm welcome by a sharply dressed chap, I told him we had a reservation but were around 15 minutes early, with a beaming smile he said it’s absolutely fine and asked if we wanted indoor or outdoor seating, although it was warm our son opted for indoor.

My husband commented on how he looked like Ronaldo and this sparked a full conversation with Antonio (sharply dressed Ronaldo) who introduced the pizza chef as Maradona and the other waiter as Pele 😂.

Our son is a huge Ronaldo fan and instantly took a liking to Antonio, he struggles socially but spoke with Antonio and listened intently when he was telling us about his home of Lisbon and how my son needs to support Sporting! Haha

Our order was taken drinks arrived promptly, including the straw our son had specifically asked for and our food was brought piping hot and fresh; we all opted for pizza this evening but I have my eye on Pollo Milanese for Thursday!

Everything was extremely tasty, the staff welcoming and patient with Ryan which is a massive bonus for me, Antonio made a lovely comment about him, which is above and beyond in my eyes because he really didn’t have to!

The only niggle, and it’s not a huge deal just perhaps something to think about, is that myself and Ryan didn’t finish our pizza’s and I was asked if I wanted to take them home, which we did, when the bill came we had been charged £1 for the pizza box, not a huge thing as I say, I’ve just never been charged for one anywhere before.

Overall, definitely worth the 5 stars, food was beautiful, staff were lovely and we can’t wait to go back on Thursday!...

Went here for a first time to be ridiculed for not booking a table and then shoved outside in the wettest of rain and forgotten about. So we left angrily with stomachs rumbling. The next night we were feeling rather forgiving and decided to give it a good old college try. Yet again we were talked down to for not booking but they reluctantly stuck us in the corner. Service then continued to be unsatisfactory to say the least. We ordered drinks and then asked while he was doing this if we could order food at the same time. The waiter then snapped at me and said "No! you order drinks now and food later!". Me and my associate were shook to say the least. When we did order food it came quickly which was the only saving grace.Hence the the 1 star. Food was dead in the water (pun intended). Once grubbed up and waiting for our half empty plates to be taken. My Associate tapped me on the shoulder with horror in his eyes. I could not believe what I had witnessed. A carlsberg "draught" on the bar was out of commission and we saw the waiter pouring a carlsberg from a can into a pint glass! I did not finish my pizza and wanted to take it home, so I asked for a pizza box. Then plates were taken and we were given the bill eventually. I could not believe my eyes as I was charged for the pizza box!. We waited for at least 10 mins of our precious time and I innocently turned around, card in hand to get them over and was then patronisingly told to be "patient" and told to "stop rushing them". Eventually we paid for the bill and the pizza box on top. We should have trusted our gut feeling (pun intended) and just gone to spoons or get a Ruby Murray (curry). All in all we were bewildered by the experience of such...
