We went there for our wedding anniversary. Reserved a table beforehand and mentioned we would bring 2 dogs. We should have mentioned they aren't Chihuahuas but medium-sized like Labradors. When we came at 5.30 the restaurant was empty, only one table in the corner had some guests. We got offered a table right in the middle of the room where it was clear people would need to jump over the dogs all the time. On request we got a table on the side. We sat down and started to study the menu, looking forward to the evening. After a few minutes we got told we couldn't stay where we were as the dogs who sat behind me would block space for the table behind me (still empty at that time). We were asked to move to a very small table in the hallway leading towards the toilets. It was clear that the dogs would have been in the way there as well eventually when the place would have filled up. We would have needed to move them back and forth every time someone would have wanted to go to the toilet. Not our idea of a relaxing celebration dinner which is why we left. So obviously I cannot say anything about the food (that I have been very much looking forward to) but found the staff unfriendly, uncooperative and unwilling to consider alternative options. Got a take away curry that evening. Definitely not the vision I had for my wedding...

We had the loveliest Long weekend away in Cornwall last week. We were told by a friend to try No4 in Perranporth which was just a short drive away from where we were staying. We went for Breakfast and for Evening food and both times we were pleasantly surprised!

I could have eaten my pancakes 3 times over, they were so light and fluffy and just all round delicious! The perfect amount of Strawberries and Clotted Cream 😍 Accompanied with an Iced Coffee with a Chocolate orange syrup... Talk about sugar overload! But I loved every minute of it! 😂 My boyfriend had the Eggs Benedict which he said were really nice but it was strange the muffin was not toasted. Not a complaint just a bit different! 🍳

For Evening Dinner we shared the Camembert to start and I had the 12 hour Pork Belly, which was incredible. The Pork just fell apart, the crackling was cooked to perfection and the Carrot and Swede Puree was just amazing🤤

The No4 Burger was a lot bigger than we expected and it was full of flavour, you also t a large portion of Triple cooked Chips on the side🍟🍔

We have since been back AGAIN and had the Roast Dinners. These were so delicious and the beef I had was just one of the best I have ever tasted.. Would highly recommend for any...

Party of 6 2 had pork belly 3 had fish and chips and 1 had lamb shank. Fish and chips OK, nothing special with a heavy batter ( not restaurant standard by any means ) Pork Belly OK , nothing special for the price and pork dry. The most disappointing was the lamb shank and fondant mash £25 , awful dried crispy ,Jerky texture shank that had been ruined by way over cooking ( you couldnt put a fork in the meat ).We very rarely complain , but this was unacceptable, we politely informed the young waitress, who apologised and took the dish away. She returned and said " would I like to select something else off the menu , the chef is concerned that if he cooks another Shank, we would still complain with how it is cooked "! ....like it was us being too fussy wanting a lamb shank cooked properly! Well , if the chef is concerned that he will make the same mistake twice and cannot cook a lamb shank to an edible standard - best to opt for a very standard fish and chips !! Maybe the " chef" is just a "fryer" and if that's the case I'd give this restaurant a miss and opt for the chippy across the road and save £50 !! I'd avoid this restaurant if you want something more than very mediocre at a high standard...

Visited No.4 on the 11/10/2021 at around 15:00/16:00 on the way to the caravan park we were staying in. We were met by a very polite gentleman who explained they were currently getting prepared for the evening diners so we couldn't sit inside but we were more than welcome to sit outside on the benches. He took our drinks orders and explained the situation with the menus/specials and availability of everything. Was back within minutes with our drinks and asked each of us how our day was going. Genuinely seemed interested. He took our food orders and made sure everything was right. Mussels. Chicken Burger and chips. Burger and chips. Burger with pulled pork and chips. Ham and Cheese toastie with cheese and bacon fries. Plus onion rings. The food was exceptional. No complaints from anyone in the party. If anything the servings are too big for what you pay. We spent just under £100 and it was worth every penny. So much so we are returning for breakfast the morning we go home.

Hidden gem of a place in Perranporth. We didn't have a booking, however the staff were more than happy to accommodate my wife and I and my daughter. They allocated us a lovely table outside the front of the restaurant which added to a pleasant dining experience. Our server was pleasant and bubbly and was fantastic in answering are several questions. I settled on the catch of the day (seabream) and my wife on the beef ragu. Hand on heart this was one of the best main courses dishes I have eaten. The pan fried fish was perfect, with the skin side having a nice crisp to it and the fish beautifully cooked. This came with crushed potatoes, broccoli stems and a cray fish sauce. It was simply spot on. To follow was amble crumble with clotted cream. Lovely crunchy crumble on top with a fruity filling brimming with flavour. All in all I could not fault.the food or service and would definitely recommend No4 if your in Perranporth.

Had dinner here on 2 occasions: table of 4, then table of 7 during an 8 night stay in Perranporth. Would definitely recommend because the food was very good; the menu is wide ranging. Drink options are good, including non alcoholic and wine options. Staff are (I believe) local too, which is a positive. Also, dogs are welcome. It can get a little loud but nothing out of the ordinary - still a lovely atmosphere. Manager very helpful after I realised deposit of £50 on table (payable on any reservation of more than 6) hadn’t been taken off final bill. Sorted next day within minutes. Pictures of: scallops and chorizo (presented slightly differently on separate occasions), linguine with fish (I asked for Parmesan which was delivered in a pot), pork tacos, catch of the day (brilliant butter sauce) and sticky toffee pudding. Also, cheesecake options - white chocolate & strawberry one day, cherry the other - were amazing.
