We (myself, my husband, our teenage daughter and dog) walked in on a midweek evening to find the downstairs bar full of older men, mostly sat around the bar so no one else could get near it. The smell of body odour in there was horrendous.
The bar man didn't acknowledge us at all, just carried on chatting to the men sat at the bar, not actually serving anyone.
We stood as near to the bar as we could get for a while but still no acknowledgement from the bar man so we thought we would try the other advertised upstairs bar, only to find this was shut.
We came back down the stairs, tried one last time to get any sort of acknowledgement from the bar man, but still nothing, so we left.

Read moreThe deck don't do food but there partner pub across the way from them, The Tywarnhayle does and it's amazing. Back to the Deck....such a lovely place , welcoming,friendly and fun. We came on holiday just up the road to Liskey Hill, about a ten min walk from caravan and came here most nights. Loved the karaoke, joined in got made to feel like part of the family. Cocktails are sooo good. Drinks are very reasonably priced. Downstairs is more of a drinks/sports bar and upstairs is more quieter and where they hold nights like karaoke etc (booking in advance needed for these).
